Honeydew had stayed in his hut all night, ignoring everyone who knocked on his door. There was a little patter on the window, and when he looked up he saw Turps. He signed and opened it. "You're lucky I don't do the same to you." He said, before turning around. Turps climbed through the window and shut it again.

"Honeydew I said I'm sorry! Its this Peter guy... He told me that if you sent someone to the alter they would prey!" The man walked over to his leader and sat next to him. "I am sorry..."

"I know... So am I..."

------------

"W...what do you mean? I can't do anything if I'm dead!" The spaceman said.

"Walk with me Xeph." Ridge answered, turning his back to him and continuing down the hall. The spaceman saw no other option than to follow him. "This is a special place Xephos."

"It doesn't really feel like heaven... And where is everyone?" The spaceman asked, it was good for him to actually be able to walk his normal speed without having to wait for Honeydew to catch up.

"Like I said before... This isn't heaven."

"So... Why did you bring me here?"

They stopped walking. "I didn't."

"W...what?"

"Xephos, I don't have control over who comes here. Or who gets sent here. I'm just a reaper. I'm not a demi-god. But, I am in charge of meeting with the people who do get sent here, to explain what's happening."

"Well you're doing a bloody good job of it." The spaceman stated, somewhat sarcastically.

"Xephos. The reason why you're here, is because they want you. To be a god."

------------

Honeydew walked out from the hut, and looked around at the peoples faces. They all stood in front of him, in one big crowd, waiting to hear why their celebration didn't go as planned.

"What's going on Honeydew?" Lalna asked.

"Yeah! What's happened?" Lomadia added.

"Um..." The dwarf said, looking out at the people. "Well... Me and Turps may have made a slight mistake..."

"What?" Lalna asked.

"We... We were given false information. And... That information... Um..."

They all continued to look at him, ready to hear what had happened. But he knew they weren't prepared to hear this.

"Sent Xephos to his death."

"What?!" The village all shouted, confused, they all looked to each other, mumbling.

"Is that why he's not here?" Lomadia asked.

"Y...yes..." Honeydew said. He didn't know what else to do. So as everyone starting shouting and moaning and babbling, he walked back into his hut, his shoulders hung. Turps followed him, and shut the door.

------------

"A god? M...me?!"

"Yes. The gods have spoken. They want you to go through the reins and become a god." Ridge stated. He continued walking, so the spaceman quickly grabbed his arm.

"Ridge wait a minute! I can't be a god! That's impossible! I just... I don't understand! Why... Why would they want... Me...?"

Ridge looked around at a couple of reapers who were looking, then nodded behind him. Xephos followed as they walked round the corner. "Xephos..." The reaper sighed. "Look, like I said, I don't decide who gets sent here, but it doesn't happen very often. The demi-gods aren't human, they don't always play by human rules. It's supposed to come down to certain criteria, but at the end of the day there are often loopholes in the system. Sometimes, they just send someone here because they like the look of them. Other times its for how brutal they can be when angered. It doesn't matter, as long as they like certain things about you then you will be sent here."

Xephos looked at him. "W...what does this mean though? What will happen? People knew me, they... They knew I was a human... Well... Spaceman..."

"Well, your original village, or in your case the people you actually spoke most to... Honeydew, Lalna, Turps... Will remember you as a person. They will remember having been your friend. As for other cities and villages, they will see you as a myth. And even if the people who knew you say that they had met you, it would just be like... Alien stories."

Xephos raised an eyebrow.

"Or ghost stories. Or anything that people have difficulty believing." Ridge said.

"Wait a minute... Is that why you were made to be a reaper after you started talking to us?"

Ridge looked down. "Most of the reason yes."

"... Ridge... W...what do I do? What exactly is my job going to be?"

"That part..." The reaper turned and continued walking. "Is up to you."

------------

"Where are you gonna go?" Turps asked as he watched Honeydew pack a small suitcase.

"I'm only going for a few days... Just to clear my head. I will be back. Until then, your in charge." The dwarf answered, pulling up his suitcase and looking up at the man. "...keep them all sane? Please?"

Turps nodded and watched as the dwarf walked over to the window, opened it and climbed out, walking up the hill.

------------

"How's it going Xeph?" Ridge asked through the door.

"Where the fuck does this thing go?!" The spaceman answered.

"Xephos!"

"Alright geez! I'm almost done..."

Ridge sighed. "If you're planning on staying in there for the rest of your afterlife then be my guest, but you don't age."

"I look like an idiot." The spaceman answered. "I don't think it suits me!"

"Xephos. We all have to wear something like this. You can change it simply by using your mind, but you have to stay in it for most of the time."

"Fine, fine..." The door opened, and the spaceman walked out. He was clad in a long red jacket with gold rims, a light blue waistcoat with a grey shirt underneath, black trousers, and black shoes.

"See you don't look much different to normal."

"Ridge I'm wearing one of these things!" The spacman pulled at the puffy thing that stood out from above his waistcoat. "I look like an idiot!"

"Xephos stop complaining. Noe I agreed to let you have the red jacket and the black trousers so shut up."

The spaceman pouted like a little kid and undid his waistcoat. The reaper sighed. "I'm wearing it my own way Ridge."

"Fine fine, whatever. Come on." The reaper continued walking down the hall.

"Where are we going now...?"

"I'm going to show you the main place you'll be working."

------------

Honeydew put his suitcase down and sat next to it atop a hill that looked out over the city of Astari. Some of the people from the village had told him how much they enjoyed their stay over there when they went on vacation, apparently it was a peaceful and tranquil place. Perfect for letting his mind wander away from recent events.

------------

Ridge lead Xephos into a large somewhat open room, it was a chrome black with strange holographic panels and sideboard around the walls. The room was in a certain squashed hexagonal shape, with a high ceiling that showed strange patterns of stars. The spaceman took in every detail he could see - as he did with every room he entered - and the overwhelming number of little things and trinkets that could be observed made his head spin a little.

"You don't need to really concentrate on all the devices around the room except one." Ridge explained. "The other machines, computers etc. Are what reapers like myself and other demi-gods and such use for different areas of jobs. For now, all you need to know. Is this." They walked over to a table, somewhat resembling a chess board. It was black, its edges sharp and its one leg thin and fixed tight to the ground. Xephos studied it, scanning over with his eyes. Just an ordinary black table, with a little bit of mystery he couldn't really sense. Ridge blinked his eyes at the table, and just lime that a holographic map of the world below appeared and rose from the table. "Now you don't really need to focus on all of the map, only certain areas at a time. Now, for the moment let's focus on the town known by 'Astari'." The reaper put his hand forward, all of his fingers and his thumb touching, then, he widened his hand, stretching his fingers out. The map zoomed in, onto a rather large village, with a fountain out front and bustling market squares to either side. The spaceman scoffed, thinking of how his town... Well, his old town, dwindled in comparison to this one. No wonder a lot of the wormers had moved there to try and find happiness. "Now, I want you to go under this tab down here." Ridge pointed to a little arrow at the side of the screen. Xephos did as he was told. "These are your god powers. As you can see you can do a lot of things, now. I want you to click on the option that says, meteors."

 What?...

...

Watch the song on the Youtube, its pretty good and funny. Just reading Xephos' struggle with the god thing reminded me of the song, though I can't remember how it actually goes. I can't remember a lot of the film because I haven't seen it in years but its pretty good.
