Xephos stretched as he woke up, feeling refreshed from the day before. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked around, he had slept until the next morning. He must have needed some sleep more than he thought. Sighing, he pushed his legs out the bed and yawned, and then his stomach grumbled loudly up at him. He sighed, of course he was hungry! He hadn't had chance to eat the day before. He stood up and walked to the door, ready to see what Honeydew had prepared for breakfast.
Upon exiting the little shack, he winced up at the sun, the light getting in his eyes. He shielded them with his hand and walked to the big H building.
"Morning friend..." He said, rubbing his eyes as he walked in. He noticed the reaper stood near the dwarf. "And other friend..." He added.
"Morning Xeph." Honeydew answered.
"How are you feeling?" The reaper interjected.
The spaceman shrugged. "Not bad at all... A little tired."
"I bet you're hungry, you slept for ages! Come on friend, breakfast is ready over at Chilli Wawa's." Honeydew said and the spaceman smiled before following then as they walked out and to the restaurant.
The spaceman sat down at his usual place and smiled as the dwarf placed a plate down in front of him.
"Morning Xeph." Lalna said as he too walked in.
"Morning Lalna."
"Just in time for breakfast." Honeydew said, putting another plate down for the scientist. "You want some Ridge?"
The reaper shook his head. "Don't mind me, I'm just here to... Observe."
The spaceman stopped as he was about to take a bight to eat. He turned to the reaper. "Uh... Why?"
"Because there's a beast in this room. And if anything happens I need to be able to put a stop to it."
"Hang on a minute, you said as long as I keep in control then I'll be fine! This doesn't mean you have to watch me do whatever I'm doing. You can go home if you like." He turned back to his food.
"You usually say its fun when I visit."
"Not when you think you can watch me all day, u have important work to be getting on with. Now if you don't mind leaving me to have my breakfast." His stomach growled again, louder than last time. The reaper sighed.
"I'll be over at the towers. Tell me if anybody needs anything or if he kills anyone." Ridge said casually, walking to the door. He got a glare from the spaceman as he left.
Finally the spaceman could tuck into his food. He brought it to his mouth and chewed on it, glad that the dwarf had improved on cooking since he had first met him. It didn't taste quite right, but it was good for getting rid of his hunger. The other two were tucking in as well, and he looked back down at his plate, poking at something as he found it hard to swallow what he had in his mouth. As he took another bite the taste he usually loved had all but gone, it was just the texture of the food in his mouth and nothing more. "You OK buddy?" Honeydew asked. The spaceman looked up to the other two. He smiled. "Yeah, fine." He answered and took another bite. The other two shrugged and went back to eating. He chewed on the new bite, the texture beginning to make him feel uneasy and made his stomach twist a little. A large growl rose up from his stomach again and the other two stopped eating to look at him as he wrapped his arms around his stomach. He didn't understand, he was eating! He couldn't still be hungry. Right? He looked up at the other two and gave a small smile before picking up his cutlery once more. He looked down at the food, and after a moment he pushed himself up from the table and ran out the door, almost tripping over as he did so.
The other two got up and walked to the door, looking around for him. They heard him spit from around the side of the restaurant and walked round to him cautiously. "Friend?" Honeydew asked. He noticed the puke that sat on the floor in front of the spaceman, who stood with his hands on his kneecaps, his back to then as he spat at the floor.
"Mm-hmm..." Was his response. The dwarf walked closer and turned his friend around. "Its OK friend, I probably should have used fresh ingredients..."
The spaceman rubbed his eyes. "Sorry Honeydew..." He answered.
"No problem, I'll get you a glass of water... You still wanna show me that machine thing?"
"Yeah..."
The dwarf nodded and walked back to chilli Wawa's. The scientist looked at him. "Need me to do anything?"
"Could you order up some more universal cables and transport buses? I'm gonna go get changed." He answered. The scientist nodded and flew off. The dwarf walked over and handed him the glass.
"See you in a minute bud." He said and flew off after Lalna. The spaceman sighed and looked down at the water. He walked over to the shack to get changed, taking a swig from the glass. He looked down at it, and then before he'd even swallowed he ran behind the shack and coughed up more vomit into the ground. He coughed a few times and then wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. Maybe he just had a bug or something... Yeah that had to be it. He sighed and waited for a second before walking round and into the shack. He looked into the mirror. He could still see himself, but something was different, his skin was practically white, and almost reflective in how it looked, meaning that in the mirror he could only half make out where he was. If it wasn't for the pyjamas he would have had a very hard time doing so. He sighed and took off his top and pyjama bottoms. And then the door opened. He quickly turned and saw the reaper stood there.
"Ridge! Fuck off!" He shouted and threw his pyjamas at him.
"What I've seen it all before?"
"What?! Ridge I'm trying to get changed. Get out. Now."
"You're getting very angry. Look, I saw you throwing up outside and I wanted to see if you were OK, that's all."
"You can do that when I'm not stood in nothing but my boxers!"
"Alright... Alright, I'll leave." He looked over to the mirror, noticing the spaceman's reflexion in it before looking back over to him. "Anything you need me to do while I'm here?"
The spaceman blinked at him. "Uh... I need some... ME cables, some tesseracts and some mint chewing gum." He answered and the reaper nodded before leaving the spaceman to get changed.
------------
After throwing up from the chewing gum he decided to work for a while, showing the dwarf what to do with the cables and everything. He hoped he was past his sickness by the time lunch came. Every so often his stomach would growl and distract him from what he was doing. The dwarf kept asking if he wanted to take breaks and he kept refusing, he needed to work right now. They had finally set up the machines by the time lunch came, and the dwarf lead them from the big H and over to chilli Wawa's for what he had prepared.
They sat down at the table once again, even Ridge this time. As the dwarf was placing their meals in front of them Lalna looked at the spaceman. "You look a little pale Xeph." He said. The spaceman looked up, not feeling all himself at the moment. Probably because he wasn't busying himself with work.
"Its the pigments of the beast. Perfectly normal." The reaper said casually as he looked down at his watch. The spaceman looked to him and then back down to the table. The dwarf sat down next to him and tucked in to his food. The spaceman was certainly ready for this and picked up his fork, ready to dig in. After a few bites he found it harder and harder to swallow until eventually he had to stop himself from choking. He gagged and the dwarf rubbed him on the back.
"Its OK friend... You're probably still just Ill..." He said comfortingly.
"It... It won't let me... Eat..." The spaceman answered, and shot up from the table once again, ready to throw up. The reaper looked at the other two and sighed.
"This is all your fault!" Honeydew said. "Why couldn't you have just left Turps with the vampire in stead of Xeph! He's been through a lot and you know that! Why not get someone else?!"
Xephos listened from outside as he leant against the wall, panting for air. The word vampire sounded strange to him... It was what he was now... A vampire...
A few seconds later the dwarf walked out and round to him. "You OK friend?"
The spaceman nodded. "Yeah. Let's get back to work." Was the answer, and just like that without being able to say anything more the spaceman walked past the dwarf and over to the big H.
------------
They had worked for most of the day, and they had about an hour of daylight left. The spaceman was sorting the machine out and making sure everything was in order as the dwarf stood next to him, passing him things from the computer.
He moved over to near the door and began playing with the machines, switching round the order as the dwarf moved the wired for the computer around.
Lalna was up at the space station, and the reaper was stood watching them as he leaned back against the wall.
The spaceman yawned, feeling a lot more tired than he usually did.
"Ah shit." The dwarf said, and pulled his hand up to look at. His glove was ripped and his skin was cut, probably from the wires. The spaceman looked at him, spotting the rupee red substance that trickled from the dwarfs hand. He watched his friend, who casually sucked at the blood like whenever he got a cut. The spaceman stared at the blood, the smell filling the room and making his mouth water as he felt his pupils dilate. He took a step back and then another and then ran from the building.
The other two looked to each other.
He ran outside the wall that bordered the compound and stopped, he had ran faster than he thought he could. He pushed his back against the wall and slid down, trying to calm himself as he panted heavily. He bit his lip, his teeth feeling slightly sharper than usual. Running his hands through his hair he caught a loose strand, he looked at it, his hair was turning slowly black. His stomach grumbled once more and he growled in annoyance as he felt the sun begin to make him skin tingle slightly.
"What do you want from me?!" He asked angrily.
'You're life...'

I'm sure you'll come up with something great friend
I have lots planed myself, my new halloween fiction as one of those. But I'm not sure if I can do what I want due to time. Why do I always give myself deadlines and projects that I can't fill?!

That's why I try not to give myself a deadline, because I'm terrible at sticking to them. Besides, if you don't manage to get it all done this year save a few parts until next year. It'll give suspence to the story... I mean, I didn't finish any of my Halloween pieces last year... Which isn't good but you know
