Description
So I don't expect this one to really be the main focus or anything and take away from The "Spirit" photo.
But I told Zach I thought it would be neat to have a photo of us sewing them together also.
I don't know. They both kind of mean the same thing but from different actions.
I suppose this would be more up the road of the people bashing me on the previous photo, but perhaps this is not working for them either.

Until American learn that freedom for all means more than just freedom for ME, they won't all understand this. But, I think people are starting to realize how hatred against gays is tearing us all apart.

I have ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War, WWI, WWII, Vietnam, and Iraq. They all fought, and some died, for the American Flag.

It's a photo about intolerance and unity, the reasons your ancestors went to war. Not just for Gay rights, but for any rights. Your right to have a rebel flag as your avatar.
If you got that, instead of getting angry about a photo of the flag being sewn to something else, which is very low on the defacing scale, if it's defacing at all since it was in private sector, which is not illegal, then I suppose your the reason this photo had to be made in the first place.
Like think two seconds before you get all fucking America on everyone.

Yes, you have the right to do it, but that doesn't mean you SHOULD do it. For example, I have the right to write "fuck all fags" on my car, but I don't, because it's not what I should do.

I think the people who died for this country would approve of what the photo stands for. To get hung up over what is being done to a piece of fabric, when the American flag represents Freedom, and is being used in a way to promote Freedom, then your stuck on the wrong point.

I like both Spirit and this one, but my first impression was that they have opposing messages
Like, in Spirit he's taking them apart whereas here he's putting them together... So maybe it's like two different visions?

I love this one so much. It won't spark as much controversy as the other one haha, but the message to me is the same.
To me "Spirit" was about the struggle for rights that is dividing the country, and this is the eventual aftermath.
It makes me very hopeful.

The other one makes a bolder statement, but this is a good and necessary follow-up.
If I was displaying this, I would probably have both photos on one big black posterboard, catty-cornered as one piece. You can't have one without the other.

I actually really like what you are doing here. It gives a far more hopeful outlook on the whole situation than the previous photo does. Like, we will all one day learn to coexist and be more tolerant of others.

I faved it instantly. The message by itself is something I let others debate of, but he sewing symbole _is_ nice.
Anyway, off the content itself, the form is way too nice. Awesome colors and very nice shadowing intensifying the focus on something strong going on... And well it's just really nicely laid out / framed.

I love this one. The concept behind it is so clear, but so powerful. It really gets the message across without stigmatizing anyone. I loved the Spirit one too, but I think this one conveys the message in a more positive way. They're both important sides of the issue.
