Description Tthe merlin, my favorite raptor, is Britain's smallest falcon, breeds on moorland and in winter can be seen causing panic among waders and waterfowl
The smallest bird of prey, similar in size to a blackbird.

Merlin IUCN Red List Conservation status - Least Concern
