Description
So finished Ariel's shell top today while watching TV, was pretty sweet cause I didn't even notice I was finished till I tried to find the next part to sew and there wasn't one. So I still need to do a couple touch ups on the paint and stuff cause going over it with need and thread chipped some off and I want to cover the thread in the right colour.NOTE
Before anyone asks, yes those are REAL shells. If people are interested I can, eventually when I have time, do commissions for them and even do a tutorial. Again, eventually, someday...

Wide back isn't too bad, you can wear backless dresses and tops really nice.

Yeah I got my dad to drill holes and then I sewed them on through the hole.

I think the idea is brilliant. But I would try to look for shells of plastic. Real shells tend to break quickly

I looked for plastic, but there wasn't anything around. These ones are pretty sturdy, they've been man handled a few times, through a rough move not to mention all the people who knock on them like "omg, they're real!" lol

Yeah, my dad was worried they'd break when he drilled the holes in them, but they didn't even chip. Lion paw shells are sturdy that's for sure

It's pretty comfortable, the only problem is they're a little small. I have a fairly well endowed chest. It's kinda cold cause so much is bare, but I wore them in the summer so it was nice. I have pictures in my gallery of me wearing them.

I love this, I think it's pretty neat. Are you making an entire cosplay of Ariel? If so, are you gonna wear it and take some pics? I'd love to see them!

I made the whole cosplay last summer. I might redo the tail cause someone copied my idea (and my shells but mine are better lol). There's pics in my gallery, two I think and eventually I'll add more, I did another photo shoot in September, but haven't gotten the pictures yet.

huh...I dont really go anywhere but JoAnns, I've been on looking on the web XD we do have a michaels and several other craft stores in my area. I will deffinately have to look. if not for ariel, then ust for general mermaiding. I mean, if I'm gonna paint them, I dont mind using plastic, but for realistic mermaiding I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to have real shells!! thanks for the tip!!
