Description
Umi took notice of her cousin, Kagome, being a little upset seeing as her cheeks are puffed up out of anger and her fist are tighten. Umi blinked as she asked herself, *What's wrong with her?* Umi wasn't so sure why she was upset about. Unknown to her, Kagome noticed that Umi kissed Inuyasha on the cheek. Kagome couldn't help but get jealous over it.

Inuyasha took hold of his cheek, which was the one Umi placed a kiss on, and yelled at her while blushing out of embarrassment, "Ey! W-What was that for?"

"Sorry but I got carried away. I was just happy that you agreed to let me tag along. It was a way of showing my appreciation," Umi crossed my arms, "What's wrong that about it huh?"

"N-Nothing! J-Just don't do it again!" Inuyasha flusters while still blushing out of embarrassment.

Umi smirked when she noticed the redness of his face, "Oh dear~! I am sooo sorry. I bet you just like guys kissing you huh?" Umi dramatically stepped back.

This time Inuyasha turned even redder but not out of embarrassment, "Hell No! That's not it you crazy woman!"

Umi couldn't help but laugh and so did the others, "Hahahaha I am joking silly no worries. Geesh lighten up will yah." She smiled at him.

Inuyasha left eye twitches while he mumbles under his breath, "Why youuu..." Inuyasha stares at my smiling face as he thinks to himself on how he couldn’t believe that he agreed to let this crazy girl tag along.

"So when are we heading out?" Umi asked the group while ignoring Inuyasha's glare.

"It will be too dangerous to be heading out right now seeing as its getting dark." Sango mentioned.

"I agree. Demons roam a lot within the dark. I think it is best if we stayed here at the village with Kaede for tonight." Miroku announced.

"What! Are you guys serious?!" Inuyasha yells, "Why do we gotta do that?!"

"Because Inuyasha, Umi has enough for today. She has still need to let today's event to sink in. We don't want her to traumatize herself more than she already is. We can head out the first thing in the morning." Sango explained considering Umi's first day of the fuderl era.

"What! You can't be serious!" Inuyasha was frustrated. He wanted to find the jewels before Naraku get to them.

Umi stared at Inuyasha and the others while they fought against each other. She looked over to see her cousin who was standing there quietly. Umi was puzzled. She seem a little calmer than before but Umi still could tell that she a lil bit upset over something. Umi wasn't sure what it was, but she plans to find out, "Oy Kagome." Umi nudges her shoulder against hers.

"Ah Umi."

"You mad at me, Kagome?" Umi asked. Kagome was surprised what Umi asked because her expression within her eyes went wide for a moment, "W-What? Umi I-"

Umi cut her off as a thought quickly passed her mind, "Is it because I am tagging along with you guys?" Umi thought of this thinking that Kagome might have been worried about her safety since Umi is a mere human within a realm that demons roam.

Kagome looks at Umi's eyes and felt horrible. She couldn't believe that she got jealous over her own cousin kissing Inuyasha on the cheek. "I am sorry, Umi. I'm not mad at you...just that..ah..." She thought quickly of an excuse because she didn't want her cousin to figure out that she was jealous, "I am actually mad at Inuyasha for being so mean to you."

"Eh really?" Umi blinked, "Don’t worry, Kagome. I can take care of myself with that crazy pup." She smiled at her.

Umi didn't realize how good of a hearing Inuyasha hearing is that he herd her comment about him, "Hey! Who you calling a 'Pup'?!"

Kagome sweat dropped as she yelled back, "You! Who else!?"

Inuyasha storms towards her direction, but before he could get up on her face, Kagome yells "SIT INUYASHA!!"

The beads around Inuyasha's neck quickly glowed and then his body automatically slams against the ground. It still amazes Umi on how a simple word from Kagome make him do such punishment to himself. Umi walks to words him and kneeled down before him. She smiled and patted his head, "What a good boy."

Umi teased him which causes him to growl at her "Just you wait! When you need my help fat chance caz I ain't gonna help yah."

"Who wants help from a pup demon like you anyway!?" She stick out my tongue out at him.

An anime vein pops out from Inuyasha head, "I ain't a 'Pup' you crazy girl!"

Unknown to us, a demon watches us from afar. He hides behind tall brush while he glares at my figure, "Enjoy your pitiful life you have left wretched girl....because tonight will be your last."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Everyone is asleep except for Umi. She found herself having a hard time sleeping that she kept tossing and turning every now and then.

"Just lay still and go to bed." Inuyasha whispers harshly.

"I am trying to, but I can't." Umi pouted at Inuyasha as he sits next to the fire with the hilt of his sword rests upon his shoulder. She sat next to him by the fire, "How come you’re awake?"

"How come you can't sleep?" He smartly remarks.

Umi ignored it because she didn't wanna start drama between them, mainly was that she didnt wanna wake up everyone. Umi sighed, "Are you always like this?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Are you?" He gave her a stern look.

She sighed knowing that he was acting like that because he was still upset about earlier, "I'm sorry...it's just that....I felt over whelmed about all this....fighting with u helped keep me from losing my insanity believe it or not." She rapped her arms around her knees.

Inuyasha was a little shock at her response. Inuyasha was about to say something when he sniffs out a demon. She hears Inuyasha growl and ran outside.

"What's wrong Inuyasha?!" Umi quickly asked fallowing him outside the hut.

Inuyasha holds onto the hilt of his sword, "Go back inside! I smell a demon nearby."

"What? I don't see an-Ahhhhhh!" Umi screams as cat-size centipedes came crawling from everywhere. Her scream woke up everyone, that they came outside to see a massive number of centipedes surrounding the village.

"Wha-What is going on?!" Miroku yells in utter shock.

Inuyasha is slaying each bug demons that charge at him, "I am not sure, but I think they are after the Shikon jewels shards that we have."

"Ah! Help!" Everyone quickly turn around towards her cry. Many of the centipede demons wrapped their bodies around her body as they began to carry her away.

"Umi!" Kagome yells as she runs towards Umi but a wall of centipedes block her path. Inuyasha cut through it with Tensiga.

*What in the world do they just capture Umi?* Inuyasha ponders to the fact that they steal Umi but not the jewels.

Kagome grabs onto Inuyasha's sleeve, "Inuyasha please help Umi!" She pleads him to save her own cousin.

"Don't worry I will." He quickly dashes off to save Umi.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

"Let me go!" Umi struggled to escape but their bodies keep contracting even more. "Agh! Why u pieces of-Ahhhh!" They dropped Umi on the ground and crawled away. *What the?* She was confused, she thought they were gonna kill her not just kidnap and abandon her. Umi got up and dusted the dirt off her skirt until she got that feeling again as if something was standing behind her. She hastily turned around to see a drooling giant centipede looking straight at her with its dangerous red eyes. She screamed and quickly turned around and began to run away.

"Where do you think you’re going wretched girl?!" The demon speaks as it catches poor Umi by wrapping its body around her like a snake does to catch its prey.

She squinted her right eye because the pain that this crazy demon is putting her through, "What's up with you crazy Centipede Demons chasing after me?"

The demon snarls, "Because your the filthy human girl who had my brother killed by that wretched priestess!"

"Eh?" Umi blinked in confusion as she slowly began to understand what this crazy demon was refering to. He was talking about the demon that Kagome killed earlier while she had it chasing her, "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! That demon was your brother?"

He glares at her as he thightens his grib on her body, "Yes! And your gonna pay for it with your miserable life!" He opens his mouth and goes down to devour me.

*Agh! I DON'T WANNA DIE LIE THIS!* Umi shuts her eyes and expect a painful death yet it never came. Instead she felt the grip loosen against her. She open her eyes to see the demon's head had been sliced off. *W-What the?!*

"Geesh! Your a damn handful, you know that Umi." Inuyasha states as he stood infront of her with Tensiga over his shoulder.

"Wha? Hey it ain't my fault! I didn't ask for any of this to happened!" At that moment that two pieces of the demon began to move.

"What the heck?" Inuyasha yells as the split body parts of the centipede demon came back alive and clones itself. Inuyasha quickly cuts up the two clone centipede demons, yet they cloned themself once again but this time there were four cones of the demon standing before us. Inuyasha quickly pulled Umi behind him to protect her.

The demon laughed, "You can't kill me no matter how many pieces you slice me into."

Inuyasha growled, "Why you?!"

"Inuyasha! That demon has a Shikon jewel shard on its forhead!" Kagome yells from behind us, along with the rest of the group.

"Huh? Which one?!"

"The second to the left!" Kagome answers.

"How am I supposed to get the jewel without it multiplying itself everytime I cut him up?" He mumbles to himself.

*Hmmm...* I think for a moment until I got an idea, "I got an idea! But I am not sure if its gonna work."

"That's pointless! Why think of an idea that you're not sure if its gonna work?!" Inuyasha gripes at me.

"Well I am not sure but if you have any bright ideas on how to retrieve that jewel and killing the guy at the same time, then go right ahead!" I griped back.

"Grrrrr Agh! Alright what is it?" He asks as I slowly explained it to him within his ear. He looks at me weird, "You acutally think that would work?" I nodded as I ran up to the demon while Inuyasha ran towards the opposite direction.

"Hey!" I waved my hands grabbing its attention. I somehow made them furious since I commented how piece of $H#T they were. They all charged at my direction as I ran towards where Inuyasha ran to. *Oh Please Inuyasha I hope your there!* They all almost caught up to me, as they believe they had a nice shot to charge down at me and eat me, they all jump down at me. At that moment Inuyasha dashes and saves me, while Sango's huge boomerang flies towards their direction. Their bodies were sliced in half at the same time along with hitting the jewel shard. The dead bodies of the demon remain silent as the jewel sparkled within the pool of its blood. As soon as Kagome picks up the jewel its becomes purified.

"Umi...You ah...You can open your eyes now." I hear Inuyasha's voice next to my ear. I had burried my face against his neck as he holds me within his arms. I slowly opening my eyes and looked at him. I blushed not knowing how close my face was towards his.

Inuyasha couldn't help but have been fascinated by me. He hadn't realize how cute of a girl I was until I had my face so close to his, "Ah Inuyasha...You can ahh put me down." Inuyasha blushed as he lets me go.

"Oh my God Umi! Are you ok?!" Kagome quickly runs up to me.

I nodded at her, "Yeah I am glad my little plan worked."

"How you know that planned would of worked?" Sango asked with curiosity. She wonders how would have known that Inuyasha would have enough time to explain their plan to attack the demon with her boomerang.

I smiled, "I didn't acutally. I just hoped that it would and Inuyasha would be there to save me just in time."

"You got some guts, Umi." Miroku states.

I laughed, "Not really I was scared beyond belief. So the shikon jewels really give demons powers beyond their beliefs huh?"

"Yeap, it only takes a small little one like this one to do the job. Imagine when all the shards are put together." Kagome says as she walks to me handing over the shikon jewel shard.

I held the jewel fragment between my fingers. I couldn't imagine what Kagome and the others go through to collect all these shards. The shard glows inbetween my fingers as Kagome speaks to me, "So Umi. You still want to tag along with us knowing the danger we go through?" She frowns a bit.

As the sun begins to rise, I looked at all of them with a smile, "Of course."
