well actually ... I dont need permission to take pictures (unless its news or related or public figures) .. I only need permission if the images will be used for profit publication, then I need a release form.
also I need to catch them off guard to catch that natural moment.  Once I have asked then then they become stiff and posed and the moment is lost

Interesting. I wonder if it works the same way here. I love portraits, but am not yet comfortable with taking them.

yes it works the same way there ... ... and one does have to be a little rude or impolite to take these kind of candid pictures of people one doesnt know ... it takes some time getting used to it.
