A little something extra I decided to do. This by no means counts for Year 2 competition. It's just a little character exposition I wanted to do for my alter-ego. I'm pretty sure I'll be doing this sort of thing for every round depending on how much spare time I get, and how far I manage to get in the main competition. Ah well, enjoy!

Bonus Spalsh 1: "Nightmare"
Location: ??? (Rod's dream), Containerhouse Complex, Diamond City outskirts.

The first day of the competition was unlike anything Rod had experienced in a long time. A day's worth spectating and taking part in numerous pokemon battles against completely strangers and one sworn rival alike only left Rod looking foward to the challenges ahead. The sense of pride and hatred he felt since his first battle with Phantom and throughout the rest of the day had relinquished him as he began to find peace in his dreams back in the comfort of his bed inside his shared room at the container houses at the outskirts of Diamond City.

He found himself swimming in the middle of what seemed to be an ocean. without any land to be seen in all directions, and his pokeballs were nowhere to be seen either. Regardless, he still felt peace as he began to drift.
Suddenly he began to sink rapidly into the dephts as the light above began to get dimmer, and dimmer. He watched as images of friends and enemies from his past, pokemon and people alike began to manifest and dissapear before his eyes. Sudddenly a horror he knows all too well manifested above him. Unlike the other images, the black ghost Rod remembers back since that fateful night in pokemon tower was not dissapearing like all the other visions of his past. He wanted to swim away but his body was still sinking into what now seemed like a bottomless ocean. He wanted to scream in terror but found his voice completely muted, he was trapped.

The black ghost only kept staring back at him, holding the same unnerving smile it's always had since he first saw it in Lavender Town that faithful night. its hand began to reach for Rod, slowly. Rod wanted to get away, but he was paralyzed with fear. As the hand was about to reach him, Rod felt himself sink rapidly into complete darkness as the very motion managed to made him jolt himself out of his sleep. His breaths were fast, feeling like he literally escaped death.

He sat up in his room finding himself in cold sweat, his heart was pounding vigorously as it were trying to escape his body. Rod did his best to stay calm and not wake his roomate, or his espeon, Kairi who was sleeping at his feet.

"I need fresh air." He thought, pulling himself out of bed as he headed outside.
