SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4!!Seriously. There have been so many incidents with people breaking in to Uther or Arthur or Morgana's bedrooms, placing poultices/mandrake dolls there and them being gravely injured because of them.

Thank you! I believe so too! I do believe that Merlin should be making his own choices, but when Gaius says not to trust somebody, I think Merlin should know by now to follow his advice lol. at least everything worked out in the end

I was on Merlin's side for that one.. it's his responsibility as the last Dragon Lord to bring this creature into existence. If not Merlin, then it would never have been born (unless Merlin had a son who could then do it later). Gaius has some good advice, but Merlin needs to make some of his own choices..
