didn't have much time for art in the last weeks, but hopefully i can now start painting again.

this is a work in progress of a Merman type monster.

"Contrary to common knowledge, a merman belongs to the undead category of monsters as opposed to the aquatic.
This is because a merman is formed when someone with the predisposition of becoming a ghost dies at a great depth.
the crushing pressure forces the soul back into the the body which morphs into an amalgamation of fish and human.
the defining detail is that this is not a live organism but rather a reanimated and transformed corpse similar to the vampire."

ps: apart from this being a WIP picture it's also a picture of a merman WIP, as in, the moment when the human starts transforming into the merman. Sorta half transformed.
