as for tips,learn anatomy and proportion.
i've found short 20-30 sec sketches using sites like posemaniacs or artsyposes really help! it's overwhelming at the start but you learn proportions instinctively.
for me i've found that switching techniques helps, from silhouette studies to drawing to painting, to using different brushes, to inking. it all complement each other and keeps studying interesting.
finally ,going from quick sketches to very slow and methodical also helps.
