umm...I really didn't think this through so here's what you have to really pay attention on:
Separate layers for skin, hair, eyes, teeth, clothes, background. I usually shade on the flat colour layer themselves. Full opacity for flat colour and low opacity for shading. And by that I mean the brush's opacity setting.Oh god. I hope this helped.
And there are a lot of other tutorials that are better than this. Haha.

Even though I don't have a tablet or Photoshop (I DO have a program with layers, but it doesn't have all the things you have in the tutorial), this is still really useful. Thank you for making this! C:

it's a hardware used for drawing, not like the literal iPad...like this: [link]
the pen works like a mouse and you can draw as you look at the screen, not on the actual tablet.
