"Apocryphal" 18 x 24
A surrealistic illustration of ancient Pagans being exposed to the idea and inevitable plague of Christianity for the first time, by having a sacred space desecrated in the name of religious conversion.

You say it like Christians are monsters spreading a false religion over the truth. We are neither. We spread the truth. If we did hurt the pagans it was before the Ten Commandments set us straight. I doubt we desecrated there sacred ground. And even if we did it was just an idols worshipping some deity that's really satan in disguise. Like blasphemet

I love this artwork. Just amazing! It reminds me a bit of one of my favourite artists - Ian Miller.

Thanks Its not fun unless I'm face-planted into the paper watching every microscopic line being made. Its taking a step back that I realize all the work and fun is rewarding. Thanks again

That's phenomenal. Β The tree alone is beautiful, let alone the rest of the piece.

as always wonderful workΒ
If you look at the 'christian' festivals they are usually around the same time as the pagan festivalsΒ
Odd that .................

Oh yes indeed! Research enough and you realize Christianity itself is from countless Pagan traditions and beliefs..even changed itself by stealing methods and changing already pre-existing divine figures. Something about the idea of angels themselves came from a traditional ancient Persian/Ottomon god that had a human head, and a lion body with wings. The same goes for Christmas as far as I know, I believe the date of his birth was changed to coincide with an already existing Pagan holiday, and the use of christmas "trees" to help assimilate the idea of the religion into them. Fascinating stuff when you look into it all.
And of course thank yu!
