You were a freshman at Tōō Academy, class 1-A. Though it was only the first week, you were dozing on your desk, unaware that the bell rang and lunch break started.

While your classmates started to gather in the front courtyard you were dreaming about a Deep Fried Rice Ball, not the normal-sized one, but the fist-sized ones they sold at your school. Correction: the ones they were selling at your school right now.

It took you five seconds: you suddenly raised your head, a paper glued to your forehead, and looked out of the window. When the paper fell you jumped up with a terrified expression. The Deep Fried Rice Balls! Your Deep Fried Rice Balls! The queue was HUGE!

You immediately ran out of your classroom, almost tripping over your own feet. You slalomed between the other students and turning the corner to the right you jumped, trying to skip the first series of stairs. While you were in midair, the time slowed down and you could see the two students who just turned to their right, one of them almost facing you. You squeaked and the time resumed his normal pace: in the blink of an eye you landed on the poor student. To be precise, your butt landed on his collarbone… and before you could realize what was pressing against his chin you squeaked and jumped like a spring, blushing furiously.

— A-are you ok?! Oh God, I am desolated, I didn’t th- You stopped as you saw the queue outside growing and immediately forgot about the poor student you knocked down. With a shriek, you slid down the handrail and ran outside the school, joining the queue. In the meanwhile, the student got up on his feet, by himself, and exchanged a confused look with his fellow.

— What the hell did just happen? – The taller and dark skinned one asked; the other one scratched his head, trying to metabolize what just occurred.
— Did she just landed her ass on your face?! – The bluenette inquired again with his eyes and mouth wide open.
— Black lace… - answered his fellow with a slightly Kansai accent and a mischievous grin on his lips.
— Huh? What did you just say, Imayoshi?
— Nothing, nothing! Let’s go eat. – He cut off, but the bluenette raised an eyebrow and a smile worm on his face.
— Heh. How was it? Soft? – Imayoshi kept climbing the stairs ignoring his friend’s question, but that grin never left his face.

As for you, you were still in line, but after another five minutes of waiting, the queue spread and the students got back to their classes, telling you your beloved Deep Fried Rice Balls ran out. You fell on your knees; your eyes burning and your stomach growling in objection. What were you going to eat now?!

With your arms almost touching the ground and your lower lip covering the upper one, you headed back to your classroom. You sat on your chair and hit the desk with your head loudly, covering yourself with your arms: maybe if you managed to fall asleep you wouldn’t feel the hunger cramps… You waited for what seemed to be an eternity, but your classmates wouldn’t allow you to sleep. For a few seconds, they seemed to quiet their annoying voices, just to start giggling and whispering immediately. You felt something softly hit your head and moved it enough for your right eye to see a sweet bun hanging from someone’s hand. At the view of food, you raised yourself and took the sweet.

— Thank you… - you softly said as you realized you didn’t know your savior. He was quite tall and had black hair and was wearing a closed-eye smile. You tilted your head in confusion as you opened the little plastic package and reached for the bun.
— You’re welcome. – He simply answered, leaning against the desk beside yours. You took a bite and his smile widened, making you feel uncomfortable.
— It’s delicious. – You said, trying to break the silence.
— They say food tastes even better when you’re hungry.
— I agree! – You smiled, happy that he started a conversation, but then you realized – How did you…?
— I saw you from the rooftop. – You gave him a nervous smile.
— And you bought me a bun? That’s a bit… weird. – You giggled nervously, trying to read him: why was a stranger giving you food?, not that you didn’t appreciate it, but still.

There was something familiar about him, you had it on the tip of your tongue, but couldn’t spit it out.

For a second you thought you saw his eyelids part.
— Not more than landing on someone’s face. – He chuckled and you froze, with your mouth wide open. THAT WAS IT. You stood up as a spring, blushing.
— I am terribly sorry! – You said, bowing. The thing is, you were too close and ended up hitting his chest. Your face reddened even harder as you flinched back hitting your seat.
— You sure like physical contact, don’t you? – He giggled and reached for your nape, pulling you close to his chest. You heard your classmates whisper and tried to break away from his hug. He let you go and softly laughed at your reaction and slightly red cheeks.
— D-don’t tease me, please. I already told you I’m sorry. It wasn’t intentional. I was just hungry and… and… - You felt your head lighten and your vision blurred.
— You ended up waiting in line for ten minutes, and for nothing. – He patted your head, messing your hair.
— S-stop it. – You said clenching your fists.
— Eh… sorry, sorry~. – He gave you that smile again.
— Thank you for the bun. – You said lowering your head.
