Before you call bullshit, these are real tears.

I have always assumed, but never proved to myself that I can cry on command. Well, I decided to prove it. I put on a sad/meaningful song, pulled up a sad memory in my head assisted by a photograph, and focused on it for a few minutes...and it came.

I had my setup ready before the sob session, so I just sat down in front of the camera and clicked away with the wireless remote in my hand.

This shot is the last one I took, the tears had aleady rolled down my cheeks so all I had to show for was shiny skin. I sat down and started shooting too late to capture the first of the tears welling up and falling. Oh well.

This is by far the most emotionally personal self-portrait I've ever done, let alone submitted to a public environment. It was weird, uncomfortable, but somehow liberating as well.
I don't think I'll be doing anything like this in the (near) future. It was just 'fun' to play Emo Boy for a minute. (blame *Davenit )
