Fleshing out characters, scenes or physical layouts with these rougher pics ~ A peek of some stuff from between last week and late last year XDI've submitted some of these here/on other sites before, so sorry if you're seeing them again btw lol
Probably scrap or store soon. honestly i feel kinda embarassed posting this junky stuff.

I really love your coloring; was it something that you developed over time, or did you watch some tutorials? Also, what tools do you do? I'm really curious as to how you achieve it!

Thanks a lot!! It's mostly just playing around colors and PS tools haha. I've had it since I was in 8th grade so I've had a lot of time to experiment.... But after all that, my techniques are pretty darn simple. Each pic has 3 parts: 1 section of layers for flat colors, 1 or 2 layers of "Multiply" for shading, then 1 or 2 layers of "Screen" for some extra lighting. Then I might use a soft overlay or something, if i feel it needs that extra vibrancy etc XD

LOL WELL TO BE HONEST....For these I'm aiming for getting the basic skeleton of the atmosphere I want or whatever.... they kinda act like reminders. Similar to writing a quick note down for an pic/scene idea before you sleep. When i see these quick sketches I get reminded of the scene i had in my head..... but everyone else just sees a shitty sketch XD cuz that's pretty much what they all are. it just makes me kinda embarrassed ;0;Β

Sure thing, I think that's a pretty cool idea to use these to create the atmosphere for your story. But I'm surprised you said people just see shitty sketches. Has anyone said that before?

hmm.... I guess there's two critics in me XDD one that can see what a picture is trying to capture, and the other is seeing what it ACTUALLY captures, based on technique and refinement etc. And it's that other one that's always bugging me and saying they're all shit lol xD

I can understand that, but something to maybe keep in mind is that while me might not be able to capture everything as artists, peoples's imagination have the uncanny ability to help us by filling in those gaps. It might not seem like much, but viewers of our artwork sort of help us out if they can at least get the gist of what you're trying to capture.
