Interesting, the doll like face could be an interesting thing to play with.

This brings me back to nine by tim burton. It was a movie from 3 or 4 years ago. Have you seen it? lol Pin Up design. That is funny considering what the subject matter is. The little details of this make it truly exciting. For example, lets consider she has a pin what is traditionally described in voodoo lore as how you can effect a person using the doll. She is engaging the camera, while holding it, it kind of has the weird feeling that gives us the notion that she has our heart. That isn't the best detail, the best detail is the little spindle in her hair. Genius. I think that she could perhaps be doing something other than engaging the camera. Yes, thats a terrible way to describe a drawing but I can't not think that way. What I am saying is, yes her pose is sexy and fun but the image could be quite a bit more powerful if you related the image do a stronger, deeper sense of what a voodoo doll is, and/or what it can do. The colors are just different enough to be fun. You are, in my opinion, on the cusp of something a lot stronger and a lot more fun. What you have here is, in my opinion, a fantastic work - but a mere beginning to what you could make it.
it has the talent, the clarity, but... it needs some soul. Right now it doesn't have that. Right now its just a well constructed image

Thank you for taking so much time to critique my piece Yes I have seen Nine. I think if I was to approach this piece again it would be significantly different. Mostly due to the fact that quite a bit of time has passed and I think I have learned something since making it
. I have contemplated making more voodoo dolls but at the same time I'm not sure if I want to. Since making the original I have stylistically changed so they might not fit together, but who knows perhaps I will make one see if I can get that little bit of soul in there
. Once again thank you for the kind words
