The Past defines the future... History determining the thoughts of its descendents.
A teenager looking into a mirror... And seeing the reflection someone else, He stares with conviction... Wondering who that person is. He blinks, and the image is gone. But the memory of that image remains... Throughout his life.
Years later, He returns to his childhood home. It is empty, his parents having past on. Dust covers the furniture. He moves to a small table, filled with pictures. He picks up one of them, and wipes the dust off the surface. His smiling young face, and those of his parents seem to look at him... endlessly, a moment frozen in time. He smiles sadly. He sets the picture down. He walks through the house, remembering his childhood.
He goes into his own room last. Everything but one covered piece of furniture had been cleared out. His parents had given him everything for his own son. However... He contemplated the meaning behind the last piece of furniture. What was it? And why was it standing there alone, when everything else had been given away?...
He walked towards it, and pulled off the cover... Revealing the mirror. The memory of his confusion of the foreign person in the image slowly returned. He touched the mirror, like he had done years ago. His memory of the exact image still eluded him. He tried desperatly to remember: The last memory that he had to glean from his childhood home.
It slowly came back to him... Looking into the mirror... and seeing a form foreign to what he was at the time... He closed his eyes, begging himself to remember. The last image eluded him. He opened his eyes in surrender... And the last image returned:
Once more he saw what he had become.
The Past defines the future... History determining the thoughts of its descendents.

A small stone can create ripples in a pond.
Such as this Picture can create ripples of emotion in a Human.
When I first saw this picture, I got the wrong idea. Seeing it, I immediatly connected it to a memory that I found sad. This doesn't necessarily mean this picture isn't good. When I first saw it, I thought the water droplet speckled window represented a mirror. It's easy to see what connection I amde there. I can see, by the other comments, that I was wrong. Even so, I think I like my idea better: The window is a mirror of oneself, showing what one is going to be. Seeing only the hand of a child and the hand of an adult, this is what I thought.
This is a beautiful Picture.
Now, for what memory I connected it to? I connected it to a memory of one of my good friends, Latarun. He had an extremely harsh childhood, and eventually grew up to be a speechless person. He eventually joined the armed forces, and became the best of the best in sharpshooting. This didn't mean he continued his old life. He completely disowned his original life around the age of thirteen, taking on, somehow, a new personality. Before that, he was just like any normal kid. Turns out, He only talked to me about his childhood. To this day, I do not know where he is: He disappeared around three years ago.
His past memories defined his life, which why I made that connection to this picture...
