Lol this was quite a shock.For a long time I actually though my style looks like Bakugan's... I guess not... well, what ever xD
Once upon a time Somebody said to me that Mai looks like Alice. I personally don't think so, they both have dresses lol... but so do many others. Alice is my fav girl brawler so maybe I should take it as a compliment xD
I think Mai resambles more Runo with her haircolor and antennas, but not so much... maybe her status makes people think that... dunno...
lol well, the point is that's why I traced Alice's pictures xD
And as said there, no panic, I only traced the pics for this comparison. And this was fun
But I'll keep drawing on my own. I don't really like the traced pics :/And no, I won't do this to other characters!

I think it's good that your style doesn't look like the style of the anime. While it's evident that your style shares some elements (namely the eyes) it's different, but not so different that it could make people wondering what you're drawing. I suppose you could think of it in a sense that people relate more with a style of art than a character when it comes to fan-artists making OC's and things.

True. Of course I'm trying to "imitate" the anime to the point I'm able to, trying to make similar clothes as the show has and hairdo's, the pupil os the eye etc, because I've made the characters for fanart, so of course they need to be similar to the cannos of the anime. It's good if it's evident they belong to Bakugan series, I was aiming for it even though my own visions and style keep pushing through lol xD

I indeed thought your style was really Bakugan-stylish too untill I tried to immitate but not trace the style they use in the show for some fake screenshot I realized later you make the faces kinda finer and eyes bigger etc. |D
Makes me wonder what parts exactly make people think it's the same/similar. o3o
Urgh and personaly I really dislike the art they make in animated shows or at least in many , there are some exceptions like Korra but apart of that they are horrible for practice and look really "dead" since they are made with vectors etc . Also a reason why I prefere the manga art for most :/

It's silly, but I know I draw too shoujo-stylish and make the eyes too big and face looks so kiddy, and I'm trying to get rid of it because I don't like shoujo lol. But I always fail... >_<'
The balls (bakuganballs) make it similar lol! xD

but still, hand-drawn stays best to me xD
