Illustration to a poem by Toon Tellegen (loosely translated from Dutch) :I am dead, one says.
No, youβre not, the other says.
And he sits next to one,
explains what they ARE,
embraces one,
hugs one,
caresses one,
shakes one,
pushes one,
falls down with one.
And then they try to get up,
panting, screaming β it hurts.
For nothing is as complicated
as being undead.

wow, when I first saw this I thought it was going to be really simple or something but, WOW. The details are really tiny, and not something I would ever be able to do and the colors are blended really well, almost like a real tree! Or two, in this case!

I saw this in the Watercolorists Club item, and I had to hunt it down and comment. The illustration is wonderful, and the poem is a real treat, too. I know, for a fact, that nothing is as complicated as being undead. What a charming concept.
