That's definitely a lot of improvement. Love how you made the shading on the new artwork a lot more effective and dramatic.
But to be completely honest, I like Spy's jacket more on the first picture The second picture looks more realistic, and like a James Bond-styled tailored suit, but I dunno, just love the mobster-ish look Spy has in the first one.

Maybe because it's TF2 you're drawing after all, it's well known for it's cartoony style and therefore people prefer 2011, which looks cartoon-y? I can kind of understand that. However, just looking at the art style and shading etc. from my personal taste, I like 2016 more.

I like how there's more shading composition than before, and the new design is good as well. However, I feel that despite you being able to achieve drawing more realistically, the Spy seems a little off to me. I think it's his face or the head more than anything to me, but I'm no expert. I think that's no problem to fix. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
