Description

I had an idea a few years ago about what I thought would be kind of a coll Batman spin-off; Batgirl and Robin, mainly featuring Steph and Cass. They don’t get as much attention as some of the dudes (not that the dudes aren’t cool), and Babs usually is the most shown girl.

This wouldn’t be any specific version of them, rather a combo of many reinvented into something new (Batman has had like 100 reboots, why the heck not). Something or other occurs that causes Bruce to leave Gotham (pretending it is for business reasons, but really it is detective work), and he brings Dick along for back-up, while Tim is doing Titans stuff, Babs is in recovery, and Jason is still considered “dead”. So, who’s watching over the city? These two! Who is watching over them? Alfred, naturally (also some pop-ins from various Justice League buddies who promised to keep an eye on things). I wouldn’t want this to be treated the way most “girl” shows are, but like any other super hero show (obviously the fact that the main characters are girls is still very important, it just doesn’t need to alter how things happen). This would also be an opportunity to show not-so-well-known villains, as well as the famous ones having to deal with heroes they aren’t used to.

These designs are not exactly how I’d want it to look, but I just wanted to make something simple to show the different features and personalities of them (ironically, Steph looks a lot more welcoming and friendly than Cass, but she’s easily the scarier one personality wise. Cass is just scary strong). Cass’s non-verbal trait was something to figure out; I decided that for most of her life she was conditioned not to speak, but after several years and breaking away from her father she slowly starts communicating by speaking. Usually only to those she is close with or if there is an emergency, and sometimes she prefers sign language (she often only says single words or short sentences around others, causing most people to believe her quietness means she’s shy or timid. Not so much). Steph is very talkative by contrast and a little over-zealous, the kind of person who will jump in the water first if everybody else chickens out. Figuring out the ages caused me to make up my own Batman timeline and ages for nearly all the important characters (some aren’t accurate to what certain comics/shows/movies have said, but it works for me).

enjoy~
