“Hair loose it is then” he fiddled with the last of the braids admitting defeat. Between a bad job on his part and sails best effort to rub them loose any hopes of a neatly braided mane to show off that neck were dashed.
Sails (aka The destroyer of rugs) was a pain to get show ready the only small mercy came with his apparent reluctance to grey out even then there had been some sleep deprived tears on the mornings of shows thinking he was good to go only to find his rug off and stains up his neck, that face the picture of innocence waiting for treats and attention from his human.
But somehow they pulled it out the bag, made it look effortless when in reality under the surface those legs were paddling at a mile a minute.

For them this show wasn’t about winning or losing mostly Nathan wanted to use it as a stepping stone a break in their scheduled trip to Austria. Sure HCL was just under a week away now but he knew his horse was up for it, they’d take things easy, hit up the show en route and see how they do. Experience never hurt anyone.
