First of all: Congratulations to your well-deserved DD and as well for that beautiful art book cover. Is has something mystic to it as in ancient mythology or even fantasy. There are a lot of things I combine with for example "Hercules" or "Conan", but also with some music and metal bands like Hammerfall and Blind Guardian. Probably, it can also be J.R.R. Tolkien's Tol-en-Gaurhoth in the Silmarillion.
So many room for imagination and speculation! Well done!
I imagine that those three at the entrance are your three heros fighting against the evil conqueror. Also there is the entrance or some door/portal to the light. Probably the three warriors have nearly reached their goal to fight for the light and to defend the darkness.
As I have looked all around this work, I have nothing found to critique here. It seems perfect for my eyes. Even all the colours chosen match well the scenery.
