I saw this whilst looking at some 6th year final architectural projects at the university of Bath. It's plaster of paris that set around balloons which were then popped.Related content

Doesnt plaster of paris get super hot? specially that much.. how did the balloons not pop before it set? Normally i wouldnt ask.. but i know you will have the answer!

It doesn't warm up at all, it's *like* mixing flour & water...
The balloons probably shrunk at bit, but the pressure wouldn't pop them. Think how far you could push a balloon underwater, it would just get smaller, but not burst
