Checkered linoleum,
As she goes about,
Peeling off the label,
Of a glass jar that used to contain,
Your favorite ingredient.

“What are you doing?”

Pieces of paper lay skewed,
Around her,
And she does not look up,
When her reply is a simple,
“Things are much better,
Without labels.”
