Lovely use of that gorgeous, vibrant red. The way it makes its way through the painting is quite exceptional, and paired with the dynamic use of long, coarse brush strokes, the immediate impact is heightened drastically. The use of perspective is also very captivating, and having the majority of the scene all seemingly leading up to one point only adds to the sense of dynamic.
Although, I do question use of light. I feel as if the hilltop in the distant background is far too bright in comparison to the rest of the scene; the shadows that envelop the foreground take away from the vibrancy of the image. I feel that if the image would have been flipped horizontally and a bright source of light placed in the horizon, the lighting would have further contributed to the overall impact of the piece. Nevertheless, brilliant concept and awesome work!

You make a habit of awesome comments right? Thank you for your input concerning the lighting. You're definitely right about the hilltop being too bright however I actually thought of it as being of a different material to most of the other scene. Metal or snow for example. I used that as an excuse to make it brighter and turn it into a focal point. Perhaps I pushed it too far. As for the shadows, I wanted them to create a sense of depth. There's a feeling of 'distance traveled' when the eye goes from light to dark to light etc. I think that lighting coming from the horizon would have thrown the focal point into silhouette and stopped the red from being as vibrant as it is. Thank you though. I always appreciate you taking the time

Ahh, alright, that makes a lot more sense now. I see your point in the effect of distance, and the distraction of the horizon would've taken away, I agree, never thought of it like that.
Thank you for creating the artworks! You're welcome for the feedback, I suppose it is a little habit.
