Castlewood Canyon State Park, CO

They live under rocks there... very cool. He looks rather fierce, but was only about three inches from head to tail.

I bet he's fierce enough when he bites you hard with those teeth.   One time, I held a teeny tiny crab and (though I was holding just the shell with my fingers away from the pinchers) he somehow managed to reach around, grab my finger & hold on so g-damn tight that even while shaking my hand wildly, he wouldn't let go. It hurt like a b*tch let me tell you. He finally let go & fell back in the water. I won't be doing that again anytime soon, lol.

This species does; every time I go to that park, I flip rocks and find bats.

I must admit I'd be one of those people who'd make you turn over a rock, I'd never believe it if it wasn't for photographic proof. Thanks so much for showing me something new about the animal world, I always love when I just stumble on something I don't know about animals.
