One day I met a girl
She asked to know more about me
I asked her why, and she just said
That she wanted to know
At first I only told her simple things
Things I didn't mind telling people
Like my name, my age, and what state I live in
Then she asked more about me
Saying she wanted to get to know me
I humored her, believing no harm could ever come from it

Then one day she told me she loved me
That totally caught me by surprise
She asked me if I would be her boyfriend
I said "why not?" as she was the first
The first to ever tell me they love me

As time grew on, I fell madly in love with her too
She accepted me for who I am
Everything about me
My past, my life, everything
And yet she still loved me

Before long, I felt I couldn't go a day without talking to her
I got a job, and time was short with talking to her
But we still were able to get through it
Not without some difficulty that we later worked through

Then one day she e-mailed me
Six months after we had been together
Telling me that it is over between her and I
That she hurt too much, missed me too much

I tried to e-mail her back
But all I got back was a message saying that her account didn't exist
She had apparently e-mailed me and then made it impossible for me to e-mail her back

Now I've been hurt
By the one girl that I loved the most
The first I opened up to
And more than likely the last....
