I think the sheer brightness of this photo takes away from what otherwise could have been some lovely sunlight filtering through the trees. It kind of looks like the lens may have been slightly dirty although it could just be the lens, too (I can't tell which camera you used). I think using a faster shutter speed or a lower ISO could have helped cut down on the overexposure. A lens hood (or your hand shielding the appropriate spot) could also help.
