Some fun ideas for some demonic mimics I came up with, based on my Doom rewrite fanfic "Day of Wrath." These aren't necessarily featured in my project, I just thought they'd be cool concepts.
These would probably only be a minor annoyance for the Slayer in games like Doom 2016/Eternal, but for human survivors or even in slower-paced and more difficult survival-horror mods, these would be a pretty significant threat.

Ammo crate mimic - Drops a random item when killed. Can be munition, health packs, weapons, even a powerup.
Keycard/skullkey mimic - If collected and subdued, will jam up doors that they're used on, preventing demons from following the player.
Explosive barrel mimic - When shot at, will rapidly charge towards the player and explode for massive damage. Can be exploited with demon infighting to be used against other demons.
Automap station mimic - Will unleash a heavy melee attack if you try to interact with it, but if you glance at its holographic map from a distance, you may learn the location of other mimics.
