Description This is a concept I did in Photoshop for a possible painting in my class. The purpose is to take a primary( either red, yellow, or blue for those who don't know what the primarys are, shame on you) and take 2 tints/shades of it and make them all seperate of each other, but also cross each other in an area.

This is my first, in blue. I'm going for a modern look, the study of shapes. If I use this, I will be using acrylics and I will flare out the edges, as part of my own personal touch. I will put the final in my deviations tho. enjoy!

nice concept, simple but to the point.

although we all learned in elementary school that the primary colors are red yellow and blue, i heard (and i think it's true) that the primary colors are really yellow cyan magenta. like you would see in a color printer. basicaly, those three colors can make all the rest, even red and blue. i think our teachers just thought that magenta and cyan were too hard a color to grasp or something.

does that make sense to you? is there more to that, you being a graphic arts person?

It's just funny, becuase I have my 2d design teacher preach that RYB are the primarys, then my graphic design teacher states what you say. I just go with whatever medium I use. So for digital stuff, I go for the cmyk, but for paint, ryb will work. But yeah, you make an interesting point.

haha, i love when teachers can't agree with the standard should be. that happens in my television classes and digital art type classes. oh well.
