Music Even though he's blind, he makes use of his hearing to create marvelous music. He knows how to play a few instruments, and among all of them, he prefers to play the harmonica.

Midrange Combat He opted to fight within his reach that's the reason he practices this type of combat with the help of his elders.

Singing Aside from playing musical instruments and creating music, he likes to sing some the pieces he created. He has a tenor voice.

Weapon Description:
Silver Mace Since Melvern is not yet good with aiming at his targets, he prefers smashing his opponents with his mace. He obtained the weapon from his elders who also helped him develop his combat skills.

Accessories:
Harmonica Whenever he's stressed or tired, he plays it to help him relax. To him, the sound coming from it is soothing.

Holy Scripture It was a gift he received from the monks. It is written in Braille so he can enjoy reading it and he can teach the people properly. He always brings it with him.

Personality: He's very imaginative with things since he cannot see them. He still have memories of what nature looks like since he grew up in a rural environment. He's very strict when it comes to discipline and he's not shy to scold someone though he has to drag that someone in an alley for example. In that way, the person he's scolding won't get embarrassed in public. He doesn't care about things such a fashion since he can't even see himself wearing such extravagant outfits, romance since he haven't imagined the perfect image of a woman and color. Because he can't read alphabet, signs and symbols, someone needs to pause him or else he might get in danger.

Background:
Ever since he was born, Mel never encountered his parents through the rest of his life. One day, the monks found a basket located under a tree. They thought that somebody helped them with picking up the fruits from the tree to their surprise there was an infant inside the basket. They named the child Melvern and since then, they adopted Mel into their quarters. To them, Mel was a miracle child.

At the age 5, for some unknown reason Mel lost his sense of sight. At first, he panicked around, but then monk helped him calm down. Since they are not wealthy enough to get a doctor to have Mel's vision healed, Mel will remain like that forever, but they told him that even he's like that they will still help him grow like any normal child. All the monks around him loved him dearly.

As soon as he reached the legal age, he became a monk like the ones in his environment and just as them, he will do all his best to serve to the people of Marseine.

Purpose:
Because he finds the king's vision for Marseine confusing, he supports the rebellion. He thinks the people from the rebellion group are nicer than those from the royalty. He would like to hear facts straight from the rebellion aside from the sugarcoated things he heard them from the royalty. Also, he thinks that through them the whole Marseine will be back to what it is before.

Another thing, he can make use of his combat skills if needed.
