Description TRADITIONALLLL!!!

Their skin is coloured normally in real life! I swear! ;A;
Which is the only thing I somewhat managed here

So you all remembered I took some requests and failed badly while in Japan?
Well, as Dragone had her birthday I thought I should atleast finis hers...
The scanner ate half of it and I messed up the rest myself, but the chars belongs to =Dragone0408
And Yes there is supposed to be an event in the picture or whatever one say... But it is hardly visible with such a bg...

EDIT: I finally increased the colours that wasn't eaten by the scanner. CB Unfortunately their skin tones are nowhere to be found. 8C

Ah, I am, but I don't have a scanner. (or the one I have can't even scann ink) so I never submit traditional stuff.
And since I never really have much to do with my art outside of dA it is mostly didgital.
The last 3 sketches was because I was at school where they had a proper scanner ^^'

I see. Nevertheless you should work your art on real world to. Sometimes creating without a ctrl+z/cmd+z is good too (I know... we have the eraser, but its not the same )

Maybe, maybe not. Just as much as a traditional artist should practise their digital work.

After all, there isn't much of a difference, except that since the traditional was invented first it is considered more original than digital and the base of it all.
But really, I don't get how people expect traditional artists to keep it up while digital artists to learn the traditional, media.

After all, there are two different media, and just like everything else in life, practising two things will often make you improve less on one of the things than someone who practise just that one.

Not to be rude, or insulting, but to me comparing digital art and traditional is just like comparing pencil and marker-works. And should be considered equally as artistic tools with both having their own specialities, advantages and disadvantages.

However, for your concern it is not as if I do not use traditional media.
At the moment I am working with markers and pencils, as well as oil paint (though that only occurs when I have time and my parents are away as they complain on it taking space and being smelly, even though I have also bought materials that don't)
And as late as today I bought the standard watercolours, for a little project of mine.
It is just that dude to the scanner there is little to no chance of people seeing the result of the work, I'm afraid.

Wow! Easy That was not a comparison. I was just saying this, because I think that we can always learn a new trick while getting out of our confort zone. Of course specialization is important, to be able to achieve an increasing level of perfection. But then, I think its also important to stop and smell the roses every once in a while, not to become an expert at another media or field of art, but to maybe expand our perception in a way that perhaps our normal creation technic wouldn't allow us.

I think that is nothing wrong or right on the matter of creation (except plagiarism, taht is wrong and not creation, of course), and don't think digital art is more original than tradicional art. Not at all. Originality exists despite of the media. Its something that is brought in to our world through the artist, not through pixels or pigments.

Great to hear that despite your dedication to the digital art, you are also trying something else . As for me, I like to wander through both worlds, mixing then when I can, I think its fun to mix my abilities to create another thing I won't be an specialist on neither, but, who knows, I might be able to specialize in mixing then someday;D

Haha, sure sure. xD
Digital art in general isn't my passion tho. As I hate line arts and flat colours, what I really enjoy would be digital painting.
However, I do bad at traditional painting, because I never have the patience for the colours to dry I guess. ^^'

But it sounded like such a great way to kill the time.
And at the same time save it.

Zacramandy In reply to Inghelene [2012-11-14 14:10:07 +0000 UTC]

it is... you just have to use the dryer a little far away from the ink (and also with a not that strong wind), because if you get to close, you can move the ink through the paper. Anyway its a good way to make things go faster

Inghelene In reply to Zacramandy [2012-11-14 14:12:29 +0000 UTC]

haha xD
Never used ink tho.
I've vritten with it, but. 8I

What I really wanna do tho is paint with tea.
It seems so fun, and I love the colours.

This look very good! You draw traditional works and digital.. I think draw a litlle more traditional I'm very glad to see nice works
And.. Dragonfly of Mantis? c: (I try to write norwegian name, but... they looks strange in translator - one to one on english )
Can I note one detail about net? (oh, entomology it's diagnose): D

Inghelene In reply to Ksantor [2011-08-18 20:59:51 +0000 UTC]

I draw more traditional than digital.. At least sketching. However, the scanner kills almost all colours it sees, so I hardly bother submit it.

just note me

Ksantor In reply to Inghelene [2011-08-18 21:05:20 +0000 UTC]

Oh, it's.. yes. you right. Hm, you think sometimes that sketch looks more better then final picture?
Scanner a bad guys

Ok)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Inghelene In reply to Ksantor [2011-08-18 23:02:52 +0000 UTC]

No, not at all...
Or, at first I did, but then I started digital, and could keep the sketch, and realised it wasn't that great compared to the final piece after all.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ksantor In reply to Inghelene [2011-09-02 20:46:33 +0000 UTC]

Oh, clear. For me my sketches often "live" - I see how final picture will loking, and when I colored I watch how I failed XD
P.S. Sorry for late answers.. I was lurking around and have words to answer but something in me.. stop any activity.

Inghelene In reply to Ksantor [2011-09-05 10:22:22 +0000 UTC]

Yeah... It goes like that with me.
But if you see what went wrong you might evade that the next time you draw, and thus improve.

I think that's fine
You take your time thus your answers are well.
