Description I made up a horse breed! XD *lol*
Nothing fancy. No sparkles, no wings, no nothing.
Just had that 'what-if' thing going on, like, what if there still would be wild horses living in the Alps? That would be really cool. c8
So, I came up with a little design of what they maybe could look like. So, let me introduce to you, the Alpentarpan or Mountain Tarpan. c:

The Alpentarpan

The Alpentarpans are sturdy little horses related to the Przewalzki horse and Tarpan, usually about the size of an Iceland Horse to a Haflinger.
They live in mountain regions everywhere in the Alps, so, Austria, Bavaria, Italy and Switzerland is where they are most commonly found. Living high up like that, they live in small herds as usual lead by a dominant mare and protected by a dominant stallion.

Even though they are real wild horses, they are still fairly easiely to be tamed, posessing a pretty relaxed and calm nature. Afterall, getting hectic up there might easiely end you up dead on the ground of an abyss. They are extremly safe on their feet and hardly slip, even on the rockiest of undergrounds. They can move almost like mountain goats.

Their most common colours are bay, black and chestnut, but because a couple of generations ago some run-away domestic horses seem to have crossed into the population they also come in more extracagant shades like roans, palominos and so on, as well as a wide scale of white markings on the head and legs. There are NO paints, though! Grey is also a very rare colour in wild alpentarpans.

All Alpentarpans have a very peculiar dorsal stripe in various colours, mostly matching the coat. A pure alpentarpan always has this stripe shaped a lot like the ‘cross’ on the
back of donkeys. This marking can either be lighter or darker than the main coat. Another very important trademark of the Alpentarpan is the little black marking on their lower jaw. It is ALWAYS black. Blue eyes are fairly common. Probably due to a run-away stallion with the splash gene that once mixed into the population. They are mostly having the three main gaits, but there are also Alpentarpans known having a talent for tolt and flying pace.
Like all real wild horses they have a short, upstanding mane that's either solid or bi-coloured. Mostly with a lighter outside and a darker inside.

They are hard in taking and easiely can be kept outside all year. It is not allowed to breed alpentarpans in any other way than naturally on the meadow.
Alpentarpans are curious and loveable horses, but still have their own head. No matter how long an alpentarpan already lives with humans or if it ever has actually lived in
the wild, it will never stop to think for itself and try finding it’s own solutions to problems.

Breeding:
Only Alpentarpans breed to another alpentarpan can be considered pure!
When crossed with other breeds it is prefered to keep the stocky, yet very agile type of the tarpan. So rustic breeds like iceland horses, norwegian fjord horses, tarpans,
haflingers and so on are pefered.
It is allowed to cross alpentarpans to arabians as well as warmbloods.
Breeding with Drafts is frowned upon.
It is essential for an alpentarpan to have the upstanding mane, dorsal cross and black marking on the mouth to be considered a pure alpentarpan.

Dos and Don'ts
Every pure alpentarpan MUST have an upstanding mane,
a dorsal cross and the black marking on the underside of
it’s mouth.
No crossing with heavy drafts.
No crossing with fantasy horses.
They do not need any kind of blankets when staying
outside.
