Description I think a lot of people will find this useful. I did this especially for ~badcoin because he asked if I could do it sometime.
I did this digitally with the tablet, but it's what I do with my pencil sketches anyways.
The picture's not as good without the explanation so here goes, pay attention:

1. Draw a sphere, we'll put two rings in it to know it's a sphere. One horizontal and one vertical. Where they cross is going to be where his nose is. This means that we already know how to begin drawing his head facing any way we like

2. We begin to draw the white fur that's all over his mouth and cheeks, in the highest parts it gets a little over the middle ring that we drew on the sphere. On his cheeks we draw four "spikes" of fur almost halfway around the sphere on each side. If it's behind his mouth we still put it unless his head is turned really far (You'll have to judge this by eye, I'm afraid.)

3. Tails head isn't exactly a sphere, so we'll draw the head shape over it approximating to the lines of the sphere. His head has nearly straight lines coming from the edges of his cheeks, which makes a near 90ΒΊ curve almost at the top on both sides. When we draw the eyes we put them about halfway between his nose and his cheeks, though a little closer to his nose.

4. Now we draw the ears, they aren't facing exactly forwards compared to his head, they tip slighly outwards, therefore from the current camera angle we can't see inside his left ear, but we see his right ear from straight in front. I also take advantage in this stage to give him temporary eyes and a mouth to know better what I'm working on.

5. I know it's a pretty bad job here, but we can fix it later, I drew his bangs, which are pretty long and they seem to block one of his ears from sight, which is pretty normal.

6. In this stage we give a vague mold to draw the body over so that we know what shape it has. it's almost as tall as his head.

7. We draw a little more solid lines on his body and draw the white fur on the sides. There are three "spikes" on each side, the top one slightly bigger than the two below it. His fur is curved on the side of his body. We also draw the beggining of his arms but don't get too far because the gloves are a little hard.

8. We draw the legs. The sum of the length of his legs and shoes together should be about the same as the height os his head including the ears.

9. We start doing the gloves and socks, each of these are made up of two ovals.

10. In the part where these ovals meet we draw lines curving back outwards from the oval that's closest to the camera. If the leg or arm is in front of the glove and we see it coming in we draw a curved line under it a little longer than the width of the arm or leg. We also begin to draw the gloves and shoes in this stage. We'll begin making the gloves like mittens to avoid problems with the fingers. Remember to make it a little taller where his middle finger would be (though in this case we don't notice much because his hand is sideways).

11. We draw the lines more solid in the gloves and shoes, and distinguish fingers.

12. We begin to draw his tails. They have smooth curves, there aren't any sharp lines in them. On the tip is one big "spike" and a small one on a side of it, sometimes there's another small one on the other side from other angles.

13. Now we draw the zig-zagging lines that are in the midpoint of his tails, tending a little closer to the end of them. They are pretty random, just go trying patterns until it looks right.

14. At this point I make all the lines solid and finish with the sketch. I also go erasing the eyes and mouth and experimenting with expressions.

I hope this helped, it's just a tutorial of how I do my sketches, in which I never do details like the shape of the pupils or the shine on his nose. I work on those digitally.

For me, I always find doing the circle at the very beginning to be the hardest part.

This is how I also practically draw Tails except for when doing the body, I do a triangle in the top region and then a small circle to show the stomach, otherwise, I go all over the place xD. I'll have to try drawing the way you do his shoes though, they look better than mine.

If people struggle drawing out his rough outline then another easy way is to simplify his shape. For example, his arms could become two rectangles end on end and the same could go for his legs.

I think I'll fave this at any rate just for referance.
