Yeah. There's a lot of comfort in a burgeoning artist taking cues from the work of others. That's how I got my start.

I still do, to some degree, but I'm working from photographs - so I have more room to make my own alterations and add my own style.

of course - well, most of the time I don't use any referrences at all and some friends told me that those are my best -- but sometimes I still use referrence pics though I never traced directly!! and I never do the exact same pic, but use some poses or way their hands are or something
But Andy Park helped me a lot!

You should know, however, that this isn't an original drawing. My reference was a comic book by the artist Jim Lee. I just saw what he did, liked it, and decided to draw it.
