At first glance,
the key and the lock it fits
may seem very different.

Yet, upon closer examination
one might see that without one,
the other becomes useless!
Once again we have Vin and Elend from my favorite modern fantasy trilogy "Mistborn" by Brandon Sanderson. They are (if any of you didn't notice that already) my most recent and most intense OTP yet.

I agressively love them so much that I actually started crying listening to the audiobook at the moste intimiate of their scenes. Seriously, you guys need to read the books.

And I LOVE that I managed to draw them as I saw them here. Nothing about the anatomy is perfect or anything, but it's actually the first piece that I am genuinely happy with. Even the chair worked out surprisingly well.

I love these kinds of pieces; the ones where the image just really shoots into your head and you can do nothing until it's finished. I also loved that I didn't really stress about finishing it, I just took my time, a few nights on and off. It was just the pefect leasure drawing. And AMAZING practice with my colored pencils.

The basis for the color of their skin and the chair is actually medium green, which I learned halfway through the process is the color that balances out the pink into brown colors, so that was amazingly fun to figure out. Thats what I love about these pencils and working with colors in this traditional way. You can just see the drawing growing from the paper, like you mold the drawings in clay almost, and it is THE most satifying sensation I have ever felt when drawing. I hugely reccomend trying it out on colored paper.

And I can't really explain what my fascination with sleeping humans are, I think it just appeals to the peculiar romantic in me. Sleeping together is the ultimate intimacy in my opinion, to let down your gard completely and just relax in the company of another person, especially a person you love. And since Vin and Elend are both such strong characters, I think it is a very adorable thing to see them sleep together, kind of like they have been out all day as mistborn, but when they are alone they are only themselves, bare and exposed and together!
