Description Forget Robert Downey and Jude Law(who even played a cross dresser in the series), True fan of the series knows it's Brett's and Burke's (to some extent Hardwicke) is the best and stayed true to the source.

P.s. though i must admit Basil and Nigel's version is very amusing and entertaining.

True! The Downey guy is not Holmes. They should have given him a new name, called him Detective Downey or something.
Granada series is one of the best adaptations out there. Jeremy Brett is
Your style is lovely. I love the poses, the colors and the background.

True. If you're throwing out all the characteristics that makes Holmes Holmes just because you think it's "old and boring" why bother make a Sherlock Holmes movie.

Like the colours.
And Watson's sort of smirkish thing he got going on...

Holmes looks kinda pissed or something.

I wonder if Watson's mischievous smile got anything to do with Holmes's face...?

New movie failure, early Granada series win.

Sure, the Granada series lack in a lot of areas, but so far it's totally the best.

Awesome pic. I'm kind of looking forward to the new movie just because I'm such a Holmes fan. It looks like a different kind of interpretation. But no way will it be as iconic as the Jeremy Brett version. Not long ago, I also discovered the 1950s Sherlock Holmes TV series starring Ronald Howard and Howard Marion Crawford, whose portrayals of Holmes and Watson I think were also pretty respectful to the spirit of the original stories. For me, though, Brett is still the definitive Holmes and I don't see that changing.

Thanks a lot, I too am quite interested on the take by Ronald Howard, Though not much on Robert Downey's, since Guy Ritchie made it more like James Bond.

Yeah, this new film definitely looks like an over-the-top comic book movie. I think Stewie from Family Guy put it best when he said, "You kids ever read Sherlock Holmes and think to yourself, "Gosh, there aren't enough knife fights and explosions!" Well, this is your lucky day!" It doesn't mean it won't necessarily be entertaining, but I sort of see it as having as much relevence to the Holmes canon as the 1967 version of Casino Royale had to James Bond.

Oh, how interesting! Looks great! Especially the colors.
I absolutely agree. Jeremy was the dfinite Holmes. The new film is such a disappointment, a real shame.

I rather like the lens flare raking the bottom; London being so garish, that sunlight should only emerge below the eye level... ^~
