Description
IMPORTANT: By downloading this you Pinkie Promise to not use this commercially or in any way to funnel money from Hasbro.Remember: No pony breaks a Pinkie Promise. (and she can break the fourth wall. Sooo... watch out!)
As promised on EQD: [link] Here is a card base with standard text. After searching I found a font that matched the one on the card, called Equestria (go figure) [link] by Neale Davidson
SVG download (recommended): [link] (Right click, Save link as...)
Don't Have a vector program? Try Inkscape. It's what I use (open source is magic) [link]
Directions: (for inkscape)
Everything should be pretty straightforward as far as text is concerned. Make the appropriate race text bold and either draw a circle around it or just make the stroke (border) thinker and white (right click... Fill and stroke. Select color in 'stroke' tab and thickness under 'stroke style')
Ok, for the (sort of) hard part (assuming you aren't familiar with inkscape): cropping the picture to the heart shape.
I've already included a layer for the clipping tool so it will fit within the heart. The layer is also at the appropriate level.
1. Go to Layer >> Layers (Ctrl+Shift+L)
2. Select the layer labeled: 'Clip(crop) path for picture' and make visible
3. Paste in your picture or vector and put it where you want it.
4. Hit send to bottom at the top or [End]
5. Then, using SHIFT, select both your picture and orange clip path.
6. Then go to Object >> Clip >> Set Clip and that's it!
7.(optional) Rename the layer to 'Picture' or whatever so it will be easier to identify later.
((Also, If anyone knows flash and wants to work towards making this into an interactive thing, I'd love to do that. I can code in a few languages but action-script makes me rage. It was something that someone at EQD suggested.))

Sure, not a problem. It's what Creative Commons is all about. Would be interested in seeing what you make too.

I have no idea. I'm sure there are applications for the iPad that can open SVG files and clip the layers. Alternatively, you could just download the raster (the png download on this page) and just use your favorite iPad art program to manually clip. No need to worry about jailbreaking. That has nothing to do with this. I don't use my iPad for anything like that so I can't be of much help.

Just select the circle under the race icon, right click and go to "Fill and Stroke" and then modify the stroke color and size as desired.

Wow this is a lot better than the back template I was making XD
Is it alright if I use this to print out cards of peoples OCs for them?
I wouldn't be charging for them or anything

No problem. It'd be cool to see what kind of stuff you make with them though. Send me some of your more favorite ones. I love looking at what people do with it. Also, I kind of want to make one for my OC, but can't figure a good write up so I like seeing what others write in. The only thing I'm really worried about is counterfeit cannon cards printed on cardstock for sale to others. That's really the only thing that'd get me angry.

Yea I have a hard time writing descriptions as well.
There is the front of the card here [link] if you make one for your pony so you can have both sides! That's what I'm doing
There are high quality scans of all (or at least most) of the cards online that counterfeiters would probably use.
Doing this free might be a little hard...if 100 people want them
If I was to charge say...$1 for costs would that be okay?
If not I can just do it free but just do less of them
(sorry to ask )

That's fine as far as i'm concerned. I'm just curious, what kind of cardstock/printer would you be using? I might be interested in doing a few for myself.

Cool cool. I wasn't sure if you had something beyond a typical inkjet printer. Let me know how some of them come out.

Gonna get some thicker glossy card stock soon to make them more like it but looks good so far! (the colors will be brighter on the glossy paper)

Well this isn't my design, but the one for the trading cards mentioned in the EQD link in the description. If you look at those cards for a reference, you can see that Alicorns both have Pegasus and unicorn highlighted.

Not that great with typefaces, but Futura looks similar enough. Only seems to have minor differences with the width of the letters. If you end up making one I'd love to see it!
