Description
Made with DeviantArt muroThe Killanki, native to Traznagtan. Live in shallow freshwater rivers and can walk on land, you may find some groups of Killanki on the edge of a river.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Killanki hunt by swimming up rapidly to their prey with their feet* and then jutting out their mantis-like arms and clasp the prey, usually some fish-like organism, and commence to eat it. Some species have been known to stalk their prey, lunging when they are close, and some have been known to wait until unsuspecting prey swim near.
============================================
Killanki are native around the equator of Traznagtan, in the rivers. They are about 7 to 10 inches long, their arms folded. The arms are about 6-9 inches long extended, meaning that the arms are almost as long as the creature itself.
visit my profile page and vote on my poll! i had lots of fun with this.
*the feet are evolved to have fins and are now used for propelling itself through the water
Haha, i can see why you would think so, but they are actually alien creatures from a hypothetical planet i made up.
Loving this alien species! It was the first that really got my attention in your gallery I love that you wrote a background for the Killanki as well, their habitat, and how they "work".
The design is pretty cool. Looks like this will be a diverse species, being able to live both on land and in the water. Plus, they have a good armour and ways to attack!
Great work <3
yeah! i got inspired when in the area there was a small flood and my neighbors where catching like 100 crawfish! i got to touch them and i'm usually terrified of insects and they are just like a buffed up insect, but i wasn't scared.
It's nice to let them walk on your hands xD We also have tons of the small crabs that have a shell, they're easy to dig up, and they tickle on your hands.
