Here's the long awaited how to make a convincing Morgul blade out of wood.
Before we begin, the most valuble reseach are the DVD galleries to the 3 LOTR movies, good screencaps, and the holy people at Kropserkel- [link]

Oaky, ready?
Find a solid piece of ash, about 4 and a half to five feet long.
This is a monster sword!! I CUT A FOOT OFF THE LENGTH THAT I HAD HEARD THE ACTUAL BLADE WAS.
And It was still long for me, but that might say something about my size.

Hopefully you'll have acess to tools to shape and whittle off the excess.
At the widest, the blade with be 2 inches.

Make sure to keep you lines perfectly even!!
The handle is to be rounded, and there is over a foor of handle length.
The gaurd is made by drilling a hole through where the blade meets the hilt, and run a solid piece of wire through.
I used coat-hanger wire. Also two small finishing nails at either side for base strength.
It's suggested to pre-drill holes and then run nails and wires through, or you might split the wood.
Sand this baby until it's as soft as steel.

Then you cover that with a resin.
The resin of choice can be a product called quik-wood, moldable expoxies, and hardening fillers.
It must get rock hard and be sandable.

To make the pommel, run a fairly lengthy screw through a dixie cup into the handle base, leaving some of the screw protruding up through the cup.
Fill the cup with bondo and let harden, removed cup in pieces, add more bondo, and scuplt the pommel.
Folk Art/Wear paint is suitable, blend colors! Don't just get sparkely silver. Find gun metal greys and greens. Get a glasve, rub it into the blade, and let it buil up in the corners before wiping off. A coat of laquer is suggested over the whole thing when done.
