Name: Christian D'Orsino (generally nicknamed Hex)
Age: 17
Background: Traditionally, each of the Illyrian emperors and empresses (this would be the DeGuillas, Bastion's family) has a wizard, whose role is similar to that of King Arthur's famous councellor Merlin. This wizard is usually selected by the predeceasing ruler. Hex was an orphan living in a small town when he happened to cross paths with Bastion's mother, the empress, and she saw in him the makings of power. She therefore took him to the palace to be trained. He and Bastion quickly became best friends, and Hex has since become unshakeably loyal to and trusting of Bastion. He isn't stupid, and knows Bastion often does not strictly speaking tell the truth, but he also firmly believes that Bastion tells people exactly what they need to hear and also that Bastion's motivation is always good. In this, he is quite correct. Hex is also extremely fond of Princess Viola.
As far as his character goes, he is inquisitive, outgoing, optimistic, and has a rather eccentric sense of humor.

His staff is used chiefly for summoning and carries a "piece" of or something connected to each of the entities with which he has made contracts (the red feather is a phoenix feather, the ring belongs to a genie, the huge tooth belongs to a dragon, and the little bottle is filled with water touched by the unicorn's alicorn). The closest to him, whom Hex is very rarely without, is the unicorn Torque, who I've pictured with him. In public, Torque will often disguise himself as a one horned goat.

More notes on his outfits when I'm less tired! Also, I'll probably throw in some sketches on the side, but I won't bother you with that. If you want, check back for them this time next week.
