Character summary:
An ambitious and purposeful man who honestly hasn't quite outgrown his almost childish dreams of grandeur and prestige. Varias is an intelligent individual with a massive sense of self-importance, and while he can be rather arrogant mostly to rile people up, on purpose, like the prick he is, he is a fantastic leader and shows much comradery with those of his group. He has a knack for turning situations to his favour and gathering people that are useful to his cause.

Kyuvel.
Varias is a restless soul and absolutely loathes the thought of the acceptance of one's fate. He is a staunch believer in being true to yourself, and both of these ideals contribute to his feelings of dislike for Kyuvel. He cannot accept that Kyu could possibly be that genuinely easy-going and unfazed, and it irritates him like an itch he cannot rid himself of. They once harboured a mutual interest in each other for all of about five minutes, before Kyuvel identified Varias' true, self-interested nature, and icily told him to leave. Varias hides his irritation by purposely turning up on occasion wherever Kyuvel happens to be, and taunting or teasing him, which honestly only irritates Varias more as he has yet to get a proper rise out of him. Varias, being of an inherently-magical race, can sense the latent magic dwelling within Kyuvel.. if only the one-winged, one-armed man would let him help...

Species history:
Varias is a member of a proud, but dying race. Specifically chosen by the gods to act as teachers and provide guidance to the other, less developed races, the Kvethar's selfishness prevented them from completing their task. The gods gave them a second chance to redeem their species by choosing a single individual to deliver the knowledge of magic to the races living on the surface land below. While successful, the individual was punished by others of their society.. with death.

Angered with the spread of their gift of magic, the elder Kvethar formed The Council, a group dedicated to criminalizing visitations of the land below and punishing those who do so anyway. The gods, angered that their firstborn creations continue to defy their wishes, then eradicate the type of innate magic that the Kvethar rely on for survival. With that final blow, Kvethran numbers have declined for the first time since the beginning of the world.. and with them, their legacy.

Varias, though accepting that the Kvethar are a dying race, refuses to accept their fate to disappear from the world, forgotten. He is of the younger Kvethran generations, and in defiance of The Council and their society, dove through the clouds to the land below. Currently, he is on a mission unbeknownst to any but him; all that those around him know is that if his race is to go out of existence, well- Varias is going to make sure they will always be remembered.

Powers and magic:
Varias also has a massive dragonbirb form ( species info on his TH page ), but I'm not 100% sure on the details yet haha.
Based off corvidae and wyverns though!

Varias can also wield lightning magic via his hands. sparkysparkyboom!
His lightning magic is purple; the other, common Kvethran magic is wind magic, which they generally channel through their wings. Varias cannot use this.

All Kvethar are able to communicate telepathically, but generally only choose to do so while in their wyvern form as it is generally seen as rude to communicate telepathically rather than aloud while in humanoid form.

He can also fight the fight but I'm being really indecisive on what kind of things he arms himself with so. Idk something metallic and sharp and can probably also channel lightning through lol. : d

I wasn't going to throw Varias on here until I cleaned up his reference properly but lbr.. when am I ever going to get to that sobs.
So anyway have my problem child. :' ) he's honestly really fun to play with because Kyuvel is so pure, but then here comes Varias being a gigantic chaotic mess it's so great haha- |D Kyuvel is honestly much more mature than Varias despite being two to four years younger..

I'M SORRY I love drawing wings so much I swear I don't do this on purpose LOL. At least they are optional, he likes to manifest them to make himself look bigger and more imposing but it's kind of funny because he's really only an inch taller than Kyuvel. |D

Honestly I really like to think about the kind of person he'd be with time and experience.. he and Kyu would be pretty aiight friends, y'know, once he stopped bein' an ass but here we are- |D problematic fave eyy

I might move this to scraps later but we'll see! ; v ;
