What's this? An actual finished piece with a background and everything? On this account??

I'm taking a Digital Painting course this semester, both for practice and for fun, and this was my first finished assignment. I know there are some things here that could stand to be worked on a little more, but I'm quite pleased with how it came out, considering that this is the first painting I've ever done in Photoshop :0

Also, no, this totally wasn't an excuse to draw my obscure Guardians of Ga'Hoole OC Brunhilda, the glass blowing Spectacle Owl, nope. Where did you ever get that idea?
