Description
One more pic from the enchanted forest.This shot was taken in Autumn 2007 near Clausthal in the Harz-Mountains. For those who are familiar with the region, it shows a small path near the 'Nassenwieser Teich'.
Some Elves or other fantasy beings may be just around the corner.

Oben auf dem höchsten Berg in der Nähe ist über ein Meter Neuschnee runtergekommen. Hier unten waren es nur an die 30 cm die sich jetzt langsam in Schneematsch verwandeln

Ja, in Wien war es auch nicht so viel, vielleicht 15 cm? Aber das ist hier schon viel, und in der Früh war es echt zauberhaft schön. Jetzt ist es allerdings auch fast nur mehr Matsch und Gatsch.

Naja, Der Winter hat ja grad erst angefangen, ich denke die Chancen für ein paar richtig schöne Wintertage sind garnicht schlecht.

Letztes Jahr hatten wir nicht viel Schnee, vielleicht 1-2 mal, deswegen bin ich gestern in der Früh gleich raus, nicht, dass ich's verpasse.

Laut Aussage vom örtlichen Förster haben sich die Wildschweine eine dicke Fettschicht angefressen, was er für ein sehr sicheres Indiz für einen langen harten schneereichen Winter hält. Letztes Jahr ist der Winter hier auch fast komplett ausgefallen.

Another example why a polarizer is a must in forest shots. It's full of blown highlights. Use a polarizer, underexpose slightly and level it up in PS.

Love how you found a path to lead the eye straight through the photograph- the green is really lovely, my only critique is that the trees in the back are a bit bright- other than that it's really a lovely shot

I like the composition and concept here... but I think I would try with just a touch less contrast, to bring out some detail from the shade, and for the bright areas not to look almost burnt
