Roughly: ItΒ΄s been a hospital for patients with lung diseases. During the world wars it has been used as a military hospital by the german army.Β Afterwards by the Russians until 1994. A few areas and buildings have been privatized successfully and are used for medical purposes again, some are just housing estates now, others art studios.
A large part of the buildings is still rotting away, in many of them the ceiling is coming down or the stairways are damaged. They are attracting urbexers, photographers, tourists and film teams.
Three people have been killed in the area: a mother and her 3 month old baby; a photo model by a photographer some years later.

Thank you for telling me. I enjoy learning about the history of abandoned places such as this because it's usually not recorded in the school history books. And I love a good story
