Description
This was basically how I animated how Shemp Howard would look like on The Robonic Stooges ([link] ) segments on The SkateBirds. I based it off a piece that the creator of the show, Norman Maurer ([link] ), had drew on the logo his old Three Stooges comic books. ([link] )Since The Three Stooges character designs for the show was based on Maurer's old comic style of the Stooges. So I thought that I could try to drew it too. I got bored in my Art Appreciation class at college and I drew it and here's how it came out.

Ikr? I hate that Shemp is a very lessor known Stooge even though he was the original third.

OMG! When I was a kid-- I actually remember that Sat. morning cartoon! It wasn't around for too long! Nice to include a Shemp! Did you know the vitaphone project recently discovered their first film; "Hello Pop" (1930)? It was filmed in color & it was screened earlier this year. The website may have clips.. Try The Vitaphone Project in your search!

Lol! XD Ikr? I love the Stooges comics and shorts. I actually own a collection of both at home actually. ^^ I'm a big fan of their old Colombia shorts and movies along with the 2012 reboot. The Stooges was my childhood and I've been really big fans of them since I was in preschool! XD But, I really hated Ted Healy and the way he treated them over the years. He was a cheater and a drunken abuser.

yeah, he sadly wasn't missed...His wife Betty appears as Mrs. Laurel in Laurel & Hardy's "Our Relations".

Have you ever seen Billy Gilbert & Shemp Howard together? They made a couple of B-films together..1940's...I liked them as a team..
They were neighbors in real life --- and raised chickens together... I think someone told me...lol...sounds like a comedy short...

You did? Where?
I liked "Three of a kind" (AKA "Cooking Up Trouble"). They play vaudeville comics who wind up taking care of a kid...Have not seen it in years, though.
Well I know Colombia was the last bastion for people like Andy Clyde, Charlie Chase & Buster Keaton. Other than the Stooges, I have not seen much of those!
I have quite a lot of the Hal Roach shorts... I just am fascinated with that era .... Some of the lesser known Roach Shorts with Chase...The Taxi Boys...The Boyfriends.. Thelma Todd/Patsy Kelly/Zasu Pitts .... Harry Langdon....and The Scmaltz Brothers (With Billy Gilbert)
Also like the Edgar Kennedy (Average Man) Series done at RKO.
What are some of your other faves???

You actually named most of mine. The others on my list are Harold Llyod, The Marx Brothers, Bowerdy Boys, Abbott And Costello, Olsen And Johnson, Bob Hope And Bing Crosby, Jerry Lewis And Dean Martin, The Little Rascals, The cast of The Devil With Hilter, Jim Varney (Because of Ernest P. Worrell), Don Knotts, Joe Besser, Joe DeRita, and a lot more. I've been a big fan of slapstick comedy over the years and from all over the world

YaY!
Olsen & Johnson? You Rule!
(Don't ya forget Wheeler & Woolsey...ha!)
I havn't seen them in years, but The Dagwood/Blondie movies from Columbia were favorites of mine when I was growing up. I know Shemp did one...
As I was a Sons of The Desert Fan Boy, I have met quite a few former Little Rascals & have some nice autographed photos from Spanky, Tommy "Butch" Bond, Porky Lee, Dorothy "Echo" Deborba, Jerry Tucker (Fire Engine Kid),Pineapple Jackson and my old Eastside friend Scruno; AKA Sunshine Sammy AKA Ernie Morrison. He not only played in the Dead End kids but was part of the original silent Our Gang. About that same time, he did a short film with Harold Lloyd....In the 1980's some British TV producers took out an ad in Variety looking for anyone who had worked or known Harold Lloyd...I just happened to see that & put him in touch & they interviewed him for "Harold Lloyd; Third Genius" a great series by Kevin Brownlow & David Shepard! Sunshine Sammy passed away about a year or so later & I wrote a little obit for him for the Sons. He was a kind gentleman.
Harold Llyod is a big favorite of mine & that's great people haven't forgotten him. A (now dead) neighbor of mine had known his wife Mildred....she's from our home town of Tacoma. There are pictures of them at our train station in the 20's. I guess it would have been quite easy for them to hop a train up here from time to time to see her family.
Have you seen Will Hay or George Formby? They are British & made some pretty entertaining films too..
I guess we cover the lot!
