Some stuf disturb me here
First, the global blur/soft effect you used here...I really find it too important...perhaps letting the stair more sharpen could have been nice, I don't know...but this is only my point of view..
Then, the point which disturbs me the most : the choose of colors 
I really think you could have made something 10 times better with this pic
