Description
Edit: This looked fine on my computer, but I guess it was really fast for most of you. ^^ I've switched it out with a version that *WhiteWolfOrcaRider did for me.I can't be the only one with this problem.
I was having a conversation with someone the other day about this, and unfortunately I have fallen victim to it as well. I think that if you block someone, your page(s) should appear to them as a banned deviant's page appears to us. Of course, that still leaves being logged out to take derogatory screencaps and talking bad about you behind your back...
This was SO HARD TO MAKE.
Not the most important stamp I have up my sleeve, but it was the shortest, so...

remember this: back when I block someone that harassed me for my views of the world, he tricked me to open the floodgate in the comment section of my Hitler video in youtube that I made over TVtropes rejecting my stuff and I fell to that video's comment

Yeah...and even if you do and even if you unblock them you still have to wait 48 hours after you've done it in order to fix it. 48 Hours my behind, more like two damn days (I apologize for the language but it's true).

Yeah, and? If you have a better idea as to how to deal with this, I'd like to hear it.

Oh wow, this is a really old stamp lol. Blocking is about all you can do, sadly, because people can still target you if they truly wish. For example, hate art, cruel journals or even saying shit about you on another site. :\ I guess this stamp was a vent? There's really nothing dA staff could do about it. Even if they did bother to respond to tickets without copy/pasting.

I was just thinking of this. If you block someone for whatever reason, that doesnt do any real good because they can just make another account and continue doing whatever they were to you.

That sucks. D:
It's kind of a good thing that blocking works that way though, cuz if one of your friends blocks you and you want to know why you can use a second account to ask them

They or someone might report you and then you'd get banned. :\ It's better to email them if you have that info or something. It may be innocent enough coming from you for example, but I had a troll get 4 accounts banned because if it.

I can see where this is coming from. Block really doesn't do any good, and it doesn't help often times people go around the block or ban by creating new accounts. Seriously, if someone wishes not to speak to you, you should accept that fact. Especially if you've tried apologizing in a manner that is respectful and appropriate and they still do not wish to hear from you. ._. Argh I'm ranting... XD

Haha, I've ranted that identical example a thousand times and all I got was third and fourth alternate accounts coming after me.

XD Grah, it really does suck though, but you really can't do anything otherwise because they will just keep making more accounts... i.i

Eh, haterz gonna hate. Unfortunately there are bullies on DA and will always be bullies on DA. All you can do is block them and move on. If they are doing screencaps and so forth, just report them and let DA handle it. They supposedly have a zero tolerance policy on harassment. The nice, honest people here will pay them no attention. The people who do pay attention and jump on the bullies bandwagon you don't want as friends anyway so block them too!! Block=ignore=invisible. Just move on and keep making the wonderful art you are making.

Indeed. I agree 100%, and since there is no logical way that dA could fix this and have it make sense, it's best to report and ignore.

I can read this, but this is going to a little fast. I agree that that when we block someone it should be a full block. I think the people seeing it when they aren't logged in can be solved too. We should be able to make our pages private if we want to outside users. Though if someone is an outside user and we lead them to our page they should be able to access it with a password. I know I can make my photobucket albums private, but other people may see it if I release the pass word. I think deviantart should work something like that.

You should have seen it the first 20 tries. O____o It was either on speed or rrreeeaaaalllllllyyyyyy ssslllloooooowwwwww I do have someone fixing it up for me so I'll update it then.
I agree. Facebook does it, so deviantART should be able to, as well. Even if you just set the settings to having to be logged in to see some things, instead of just friends, since that would make it hard to get new watchers or see anybody's art.

Cr1kk3t In reply to InsaneRoman [2012-06-15 21:37:52 +0000 UTC]
Well I'm glad you have someone doing it for you. I could at least fix the speed in a couple of minutes. It's easy to do with photoshop.
Well people from the outside doesn't need to see the art. What I'm suggesting is that no one outside can see the art, but all users that have signed up cane see what they want unless they are blocked. That would still be possible for people to have watchers. Though people could be able to set somethings for outsiders to see. They could also not let any outside see anything unless they want to let them see it by giving them a password. I've seen sites do this. You aren't able to view user content until you sign up.

Don't you think that making this stamp could provoke that person further?

InsaneRoman In reply to LordMaddie [2012-06-15 21:19:26 +0000 UTC]
Nah, it's way in the past. It's mostly inspired from a conversation I had with someone about how blocking doesn't really do much in severe cases.
